Oh, I know - the "archetype" is using spells like Unearth or Lorehold Charm to reanimate above-rate cards like Benevolent River Spirit or Patched Plaything, with the only version to really make a splash in constructed being reanimating Abhorrent Oculus.

Oh, hey, another piece for the cheat-y unearth archetype. It's also actually feasible to cast normally, which is nice. EDIT: A 4/2 for {1}{R} that's resistant to removal seems pretty solid to me! I have no idea if this is good, but I've always been a fan of Zhur-Taa Druid style ramp +...

It's also going to trigger off of creatures you control that die from stuff like Languish, which seems like a nice plus.

Germination Practicum The last Paradigm spell... and I'm disappointed that it's just "put counters on things". I mean, yeah, sure, no complaints from a power level perspective, but it would've been nice if it wasn't reliant on having board presence to do stuff. (More broadly, as someone who...

Repartee triggering off targeting any creature ironically feels like it's going to cause rules stumbles. Someone on the design team has decided that Sign in Blood is cool and that we should have more of it... which I don't disagree with! It feels a bit odd to prepare after gaining 2 life...

What a weird little sidequest card. I'm curious what spell+creature combo would justify running this?

Clearly you curve into it with Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, which as we all know is a very reasonable plan for a singleton format.

Behold, what black mages truly want: Sign In Blood every turn, forever. Unless the green Paradigm spell is completely wild, this is probably the best card in the cycle and it isn't even close.

Wild Thicket Archaic - {2/G}{2/G} Creature - Avatar Reach, Trample Converge - This creature enters the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter on it for each different color of mana paid to cast it. Whenever you cast a creature spell, that creature enters the battlefield with an additional X +1/+1...

I'm trying to think of when it hits "tons of mana" - I think I'd be fine casting it at {2}{G}{U} if I had a decent enough target in hand?

Nah, clearly there's going to be gold cards that look like: Quandrix Unsnarler - {G}{U} Creature - Merfolk Wizard For each {G} or {U} in a cost, you may pay {G/U} rather than pay that mana. What do you think the color pie tastes like? 2/2

I dunno, having an instant and a sorcery in your yard feels like an appropriate amount of set-up for what is effectively a better Expressive Iteration. I have a hard time imagining that a deck that wants to run an impulse would have much trouble getting this active by T4 - heck, if you break...

There are some pretty good spoilers so far today, but I just want to post one right now: Mica, Reader of Ruins They did not need to make this man this absolutely ripped, but I appreciate that they did. The ability is also pretty cool, but I just got distracted by this man being a refrigerator...

"Mill a card. You may play that card this turn." is some pretty cool text.
