Early March 2021 Mark Rosewater released this article about Time Spiral block. The set was by far the most important set in Magic history and MARO elaborates on the 27 details we might not have known about the block.
Without Time Spiral, there would be no planeswalkers. I remember the games, competitive as well as casual and I remember the talks around the kitchen table or at the local game store. Everyone wanted planeswalkers to be a part of the game because they were the most important part of the lore in every set. On the internet (pre Facebook) people shouted for them as well. But Wizards kept saying that planeswalkers couldn’t be printed because they were too powerful. They were actual gods and not just Theros gods who could create and destroy planes. This was told to us several times over the years. Then came along The Mending and Time Spiral.
