I think a lower power environment where you're pretty stoked on getting a 3 mana 2/3 flyer that scries on attack would actually be a much better environment for this card than any of the high power cubes where it actually tends to show up lol.

Not getting any Evoke creatures at common is definitely the biggest bummer of this set (which looks pretty good fwiw, probably the first retail set I'm gonna bother drafting irl in years lol) but c'mooooooon where's my evoke Man O' War. Instead we got "Man O' War but it's a 3/2". Snooooooze.

Yeah I've found the most valuable thing that temporal spring offers is that it can buy you a whole turn vs a big threat in a UG deck that otherwise can't really answer a resolved creature.

I think Temporal Spring might be able to hang in ravnic-rate-land, although in order to love that card you need to say "oh boy!" instead of "ew gross!" when you realize that it can be half a Plow Under :p

I think an important thing to keep in mind with singleton breaking is that you can always just, adjust the numbers. I like to start at 2, bump up to 3 if something feels really essential. But you can also start at 4, bump up or down if necessary. It can feel intimidating if you've never done it...

I think I generally prefer an environment that has a decent number of sweepers more than an environment that has none. Sweepers add a huge amount of tension to the game. When you're playing an environment that you know doesn't have sweepers, there are a lot of board positions where the outcome...

all i know about this format is that i got to run some games with someone else's decks at a cube event earlier this year and the mono red deck ran 4x ball lightning so i think it's safe to say the format is perfect

I don't really think that's true. You definitely CAN play Languish like that, and it's cool that it has that mode, but it absolutely will see play in control decks in most environments.
