    The ISDODYAKH Set Cube

After doing a couple more drafts, I'm currently in the process of taking the cube through a major overhaul. The main thing I'm changing is lowering the number of copies per common to free up more space for cards I want to try out. I had it at 3 copies per common, I'm dropping it to 2 copies per...

    The ISDODYAKH Set Cube

You might be right. Could be that I'm overreacting, the 5 toughness isn't all that intimidating. It does have a lot of support in Dimir, and to a lesser extent Rakdos, with Cabal Initiate and Trespasser il-vec in black, Faithless Looting in red and Waterfront Bouncer and Cephalid Looter in blue.

    The ISDODYAKH Set Cube

Update time. I managed to get two full 8 man drafts in, and got a boatload of data. The main thing I learned was that having duplicate effects in a non-singleton cube really hurts deck diversity. It's a bit touch and go building a set cube, with a pretty steep learning curve. Anyway, these were...

    General Jank Spotlight

Reminds me of one of my old modern decks, super fun to run! Having only 1 copy of young wolf really hurts, though, because having it enter as an undying 2/2 is what makes the engine go. I think you'll be forced to run stuff like Tukatongue Thallid and blisterpod to make it consistent enough with...

    General Custom Cards: The Lab

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE Edit: I mean, like, it's like, whatever, man.

    General Custom Cards: The Lab

I think I'd prefer it if it buffed a certain creature or token type, but creature type would likely make it too strong with enough cheap cantrips.

    General Custom Cards: The Lab

Would make it more in line with what Flashback usually costs, when considering Threshold as part of the casting cost.

    General Custom Cards: The Lab

So I wanted to try my hand at creating some custom cards for my cube, mostly because I kinda want to have a few more half decent threshold creatures in red, and I'm not happy with the 1 and 2 cmc slots, but I have no idea what I'm doing so I could use some help. I'm considering something like...

    General Riptide's P1P1 Thread

That and players dislike giving other people choices. As for the pack: Can't go wrong with good old Disintegrate. It slices, it dices, it exiles, it finishes games. New pack? New pack. sandblast Arcane Sanctum Mulch Burning-Fist Minotaur Zenith Seeker Bishop of Rebirth Cartographer...

    General "Looking for a card"-Thread

If you have enough decent ETB effects across the other colors, blink spells won't be overly parasitic. And they can be used to save blockers or counter kill spells by removing your creature as a target. Blink cards that give an additional benefit, like Otherworldly journey or Touch the Spirit...

    The ISDODYAKH Set Cube

It's interesting, Flashback is a big plus. Casting it for its flashback cost might be what a white based aggro deck needs to push through the last bit of damage, since it can bring back two Benalish Knights or Benalish Cavalrys. I haven't leaned into white's low cmc creature reanimation at all...

    The ISDODYAKH Set Cube

So I gave the cube a minor overhaul this week just in time to test it with a 4 man draft! The main changes were to support token strategies more, and to reduce the amount of cycling present in the cube. Below are the biggest changes I've made, besides some smaller adjustments in the common...

Sets [FDN] Foundations (a new Core Set)

I love how flavor and mechanics come together on this one. He's a squire that becomes a knight if he gets enough +1/+1 counters.

    Alvoi's Cube

Sure! We seem to have the same general ideas, lol.

    Alvoi's Cube

My advice would be to build what you enjoy. I've built maybe 5 different iterations of my graveyard cube over the years, adding more complexity, cutting down, streamlining, growing to 720, breaking back down to 450. It's an ongoing process, and that's the fun part of it. There's never going to...
