    Nanonox's 1vs1 cube

Rydia, Monument and Talent is also the package I would have suggested, had I read this post in time! I love the monument and you definitely convinced me about Rydia. I think I didn't consider her much for my own cube because of the additive distraction of Sagas, because I only have two in my own...

    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

Using bold for slight changes is a nice idea, I might try that. Keeping names and art is a no go for me personally, as that's the main reason I do these :D . I am dreading the number of universes within cards that I'll want to do for Final Fantasy though... White leaves the graveyard cards...

    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

Dang, there had to be something. On the bright side, I'm certain my friends have no idea how to spell Krasis either! I tried the Godzilla nickname frame but there was a reason I didn't use it. Maybe it was the text box transparency or that changing it messed with the frame in some other way...

    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

Here you go! I made this for my last order 10 months ago and I don't think it made it into my cube since we only played it twice since then :D. Reminder Text kinda negates the text saving through keywords but if you know evolve and investigate, you can ignore it.

    General CBS

I also saw the news and immediately thought of Alchemy cards as an analogy. My fear is (in addition to the points you made) that WotC will cut costs on the art budget. There are some good looking alchemy cards here and there, but somehow most of cards art does not appeal to me personally.

    General [DFT] Aetherdrift

I don't remember seeing this previously. My guess would be it's mainly there for the late game exhaust abilities?

    General [DFT] Aetherdrift

What do you all (that have some kind of discard matter theme) think about this card? Is this just a commander card hiding in the main set? The most interesting mode is probably "draw a card" which makes it similar to Containment Construct, as you rarely attack or block with that one. The...

    General [DFT] Aetherdrift

One card that did not get much attention yet is this beautiful shark: At first glance it looks a bit like a commander plant but I think it has potential [for cubes that have some amount of looting/rummaging/self-discard]. The closest comparison is Rielle, the Everwise and that card has...

    General [DFT] Aetherdrift

Correct me if I'm wrong, but multiple instances of "Start your engines!" don't make it go faster, do they? The first one you play sets your speed to 1. If you already have a creature on board and a decent attack (or other damage/life loss) you can go to two. Next turn you can go to speed 3. The...

    General [DFT] Aetherdrift

There are definitely some interesting cards for a wide range of cubes! What caught my eye is, that there are some cool designs but unfortunately it also says "Start your engines!" on them... For me it's mostly the name but also a minimum of three turns (ETB Speed one, attack -> speed two and...

    Nanonox's 1vs1 cube

Nice write up! I'm a bit in the same boat, I think. Space is scarce and I have around 11 utility lands, one for each color and 6 colorless/multicolor. Nine of them you already mentioned (shout-out to a fellow Flagstones of Trokair enjoyer!) and the remaining two are: Castle Embereth The...

    General Custom Cards: The Lab

I'm with you, the card would be at least decent in my cube for alle the reasons you mentioned now and that @Suicufnoc mentioned earlier! I was begrudgingly playing Ransack the Lab for a lack of better options, but this card I would play happily. Being colorless is a bit strange, but the...

General [Lucky Paper] When Trivia Beats Strategy

It's not in the same spirit as the abilities you mentioned are but there are quite a few cool cards that would be perfect for my cube with one ability less (I think this is also part of the commander syndrome of enabler and payoff on the same card). The card I think most often about in this...

Sets [FDN] Foundations (a new Core Set)

    1. Turn one Thraben Inspector. 2. Turn two anything 3. ??? Profit! Also counts tokens, which is neat.

Sets [FDN] Foundations (a new Core Set)

The designs are pretty cool but what's up with the art in jumpstart? In previous versions only reprints got the anime treatment if I remember correctly. Will we get UW versions of these ?
