Deepening Archetypal / Combo Support in 1080:
This round of changes is primarily to support the addition of the following archetypes / combo pieces:

Replenish - Recurring Enchantments from the Graveyard is already loosely supported for low-cmc options through
Sun Titan &
Sevinne's Reclamation. The addition of Replenish is twofold, to allow the potential of a cheaty-enchantment-reanimator play, and to provide a backup plan for enchantment centered strategies. As a minor benefit, it gives White a splashable method of getting powerful lower-cmc enchantments with excessively restrictive casting costs, like
Overgrown Estate &
Seismic Assault, onto the battlefield.
Polymorph - Package includes
Proteus Staff &
Mass Polymorph as well. No Red support, I don't have much of an interest in replacing any of my current 4-drops. 3 pieces at 1080 is definitely not enough to develop a full blown archetype. My hope is that I have enough cheaty support in Temur colors where a mini-Polymorph package could find a home and encourage interesting deck building constraints. A lot of changes have been made to increase the density of noncreature spells that put creatures onto the battlefield, including an overall increase in Planewalker support.
Ad Nauseam - There is a magic blog that occassionally pops up when I research out of the norm support in cubes by an author named 'Nick Nobody'. They had an excellent post on Ad Nauseam that discussed the parasitic pieces of an Ad Nauseam combo (i.e.
Angel's Grace &
Phyrexian Unlife), but also focused on an alternative strategy where you draft low-cmc eggs, tutors, accelerants, lands, and a discard-based win-condition like
Seismic Assault,
Ayula's Influence, or
Zombie Infestation. These win-cons also support Wheel strategies, deepen the Lands Archetype, and further entrench enchanments as an integral component of combos firing. As such, all 3 were enthusiastic includes. Ad Nauseam, like
Necropotence &
Yawgmoth's Bargain, offers the ability to 'draw' your entire deck as a payoff for lifegain, which I do include some minor support for. As a draw-engine, it also has potential to gas the next include:
Cadaverous Bloom.
Cadaverous Bloom - I have a lot of Draw engines and X-spell / Large-cmc payoffs in my list and I enjoy the novel method in which Bloom intersects those 2 categories. It's inclusion somewhat incidentally has cemented Golgari as a Enchantment color along with
Squandered Resources &
Pernicious Deed. Bloom is also a part of my push to integrate enchantments more deeply into combo support.
I usually post a 'Change' list describing swaps, but I think I want to instead just focus on an 'Add' list this time around, as none of the swaps were very difficult, a lot of redundancy pruning / filling placeholders after the jump from 900.
White:
Legion's Landing - Noncreature Lifegain Token producer / minor payoff. Always loved this card, happy to include it once more.
Gideon of the Trials - Gideon is a generically powerful 3-drop that also supports both Polymorph & Ad Nauseam.
Angel's Grace - Parasitic Ad Nauseam piece that also acts as a sideboard Storm-hoser. I have the slots to where I am ok with that (Also the art is awesome).
Flare of Fortitude - Primarily an Ad Nauseam piece. However, the sacrifice clause is relatively rare in white and can be used to trigger both
False Prophet,
Academy Rector,
Reveillark, etc. Protecting an important creature or enchanment combo piece seems pretty great as well.
Replenish - Can do it all other than Replenish my wallet (fuck you RL).
Phyrexian Unlife - Parasitic Ad Nauseam support, but has some interesting interactions with both
Solemnity &
Melira, Sylvok Outcast. Enchantment combo piece woo.
Solemnity - Solemnity is interesting because it epitomizes what I would categorize as Parasitic, but it also incidentally supports so many combos that it wraps around to being a one limber parasite. It contributes to Persist / Undying /
Luminous Broodmoth sacrifice loops as well as
Dark Depths &
Glacial Chasm. Obligatory 'Enchantment combo piece woo'.
Blue:
Stormchaser's Talent - The Sorcery / Instant recursion is welcome but this is mainly here for the noncreature token creation for polymorph, on top of being perfectly playable in prowess decks.
Occult Epiphany - Epiphany is a case of: 'it probably does too much', but because it does too much it supports an incredible breadth of archetypes in 1 slot.
Hard Evidence - Polymorph / Artifact support.
Polymorph - Polymorph support. Also the Art is incredible for this card.
Mass Polymorph - Polymorph support. I really like the art on this one too.
Cryptic Coat - Strong Artifact that incidentally supports Polymorph.
Proteus Staff - Why do Polymoprh cards all have cool art? Also the ability to reorder your entire deck does seem interesting to play around with.
Shark Typhoon - Generically strong cycler that also supports Polymorph and has strong interactions with Replenish.
Black:
Sheoldred, the Apocalypse - What an absolutely absurd 4-drop. She is being added to support wheels and because she has combo potential with
Griselbrand &
Yawgmoth's Bargain.
Ad Nauseam - And they don't stop coming... And they don't stop coming... And they don't stop coming... And they don't stop coming...
Zombie Infestation - An excellent discard enabler I hope can play well with recursive land strategies & wheels.
Phyrexian Tower - Great land that supports explosive turns and sacrifice, I think it will play well with Pox / Aristocrats.
Red:
Utvara Hellkite - With
Ancient Stone Idol being rotated out, I wanted an alternative Sneak Target that leaves behind a threatening token. Utvara, especially with haste, is a solid cheat target all on its own. And of course, Dragonstorm target.
Firestorm - This is one of those cards that I always read and think: 'Man that's crazy good,' only to promptly forget about. I picked one up recently and want to give it a shot.
Desperate Ritual - I'm at the size where I think trying to skate by using only
Seething Song as a red ritual are over. This is exclusively a redundancy add and a narrow one at that.
Molten Vortex - I want to support Land Discard -> Value more. Hard for me to judge how good this one is but I think its strong enough to give a spin.
Seismic Assault - The casting cost is a tad concerning, but the effect seems incredible in combo shells that can draw a massive amount of cards. Enchantment combo piece woo.
Green:
Goldvein Hydra - Seems generically powerful enough but it being scalable as well as having incidental Artifact support is what sealed the deal.
Nissa, Voice of Zendikar - Great Token producer. Including primarily for Polymorph support.
Sprout Swarm - Disgusting common that helps support Polymorph /
Intruder Alarm /
Jeskai Ascendancy /
Thousand-Year Storm.
Malevolent Rumble - Great GY support that also helps Polymorph.
Awaken the Woods - Scalable-X Finisher that both goes super wide and triggers Landfall.
Cryptolith Rite - It is not exactly the same, but I wanted a semi-redundant effect to
Earthcraft.
Evolutionary Leap - Not a free sacrifice-effect, but I wanted more of them in Green.
Ayula's Influence - Similar role as Seismic Assault. I am curious how Green can handle the restrictive casting cost in comparison to Red. Enchantment combo piece woo.
Yavimaya, Cradle of Growth - I'm starting to include a lot of cards with demanding Green pip counts, some of which have fun interactions across multiple colors. I think this is a safe include that can help with those costs.
Artifact:
Platinum Angel - Interesting effect that also combos with Ad Nauseam.
Platinum Emperion - Interesting effect that also combos with Ad Nauseam.
Gruul:
Wild Cantor - I was looking for another combo piece for
Enduring Renewal /
Koll, the Forgemaster and Cantor really interests me for 2 reasons. 1) She can self-sac. 2) Her being a Human allows her recursion loops to pump both
Champion of the Parish &
Thalia's Lieutenant as a potential combo-esque finish.
Golgari:
Cadaverous Bloom - I might have to at somepoint add some more X-spells to Black to further support this, but for now my hope the additions to Green are enough.
Enchantment combo piece woo.
Boros:
Nahiri, the Harbinger - I was already a bit dense on Red 3-drops so I wanted to drop Kellen. I have never played with her but I love her +2 and her Ultimate seems great for cheaty decks.
Simic:
Oko, Thief of Crowns - User was banned for this post... (Polymorph)
Temur:
Sarkhan Unbroken - Polymorph support with Dragon Tribal. Neat.
Abzan:
Overgrown Estate - Redundancy for Land-sac / Lifegain loops. There are 3 things I really like about it. 1) It's an enchantment. 2) It's a combo piece. 3) woo. I am a bit concerned regarding the casting cost, but I have to admit it is an excellent signpost regardless.
Lands:
Glacial Chasm - Works with Land recursion as well but primarily included to support Solemnity.
