Card/Deck Broken cards for lower power

I am currently trying all companions except Lutri and Lurrus as occasionals. The problem hasn't been that they were too huge power-outliers – But so far they have only been maindecked. I am talking about the good ones like Yorion, Umori or Gyruda. I think for lower power levels, especially when we're talking about a limited draft context, I would have preferred companions to be weaker at face value but still come to your hand with the old companion rule.

Imagine if Yorion was only a 4/4 and would only blink one permanent, but he could come to your hand for free if you build around him. I think that would have been more appropriate for my cube, at least.

In a cube there is often not a lot of draftchaff. So the last picks are not that bad. I do not know whether this one is busted or not.
I've had it in and out at various times. The main detractor is that every Worldknit deck feels the same which is kind of the opposite of what you'd want, where you have to make do with everything you draft. It turns out you can easily make a 5c control pile when you can take the best card from every pack.

It also doesn't work with Yorion even though both cards want you to play a big deck, which has come up and is a feel bad. I won't put it back in now unless and until I decide Yorion's had its time.

I don't get it.
Ah, it's nothing. It's just that flavour text has gotten more and more jokey and one-liner-ish over the years but Battle of Wits was downgraded to "There's no loftier ambition than the pursuit of knowledge" which has no charm.

Hey guys! New here :) First of all, super cool forum!

I wanted to create a new thread, but this one looks pretty similar to what I wanted to ask.

I have recently added some very powerful lands to my Cube (https://cubecobra.com/cube/list/ubn). These being:

Now, my Cube is certainly *not* low power, but it's also not high power. I tried to go more towards sinergy than power level alone (took a lot of inspiration from Caleb's cube).

That said, I'm not sure of whether these lands are too much. I have some doubts on Karakas specifically, which seems very strong both offensively and defensively (especially so, since I'm trying to push Boros legends as a small archetype). The other three seem mostly fine to me, but I'd love to know what you think!

By the way, unfortunately I had not time (nor people) to test this version of the cube yet, so I have no data on that.

Welcome!
You do not have much land destroy.
You do not have a lot of cheap artifacts.
So….
Karakas is too strong. Just like yavimaya hollow.

Cradle depends on how cheap your creatures are. Having no creatures in play is a massive dependency. Similarly the academy can be bad if you do not have artifacts in play.
I am not well versed enough with the new cards, but if the bazaar does not combo then it is massive card disadvantage. That is not worth it.

In my urza block cube (https://cubecobra.com/cube/list/16se) there are normally really powerful cards which in that cube are just meh, e.g., tolarian academy, serra’s sanctum, yawgmoth’s will.
