I only run Ozolith of the two. The ability to put counters on cards itself and cycle itself away if needed make it much more valuable in the average deck, where only a dedicated counters deck will ever be interested in Scales.

I noticed this too. I'm so sad; it makes them useless for me tbh. There's a few cards I used to run that would work in the style (Faith's Fetters, Pteramander, Ultimate Price, Condemn, etc.) but I really wanted to swap out for the Legion Warboss and Light Up the Stage, but cannot justify losing...

General [Contest] Ravnica Reimagined (Entry Closed - Judging Complete!)

I decided to keep it simple, and using my fave guild. Levy is an Orzhov mechanic that taxes blocking, so I made aggressive cards that love attacking and punish your opponent for blocking. I would enjoy playing with all these cards, personally, and I think that's a good metric for custom cards.

I'm in love with Demand Answers. It reminds me of Bitter Triumph in its modality in terms of cost, and goodness knows I have enough trinket tokens running around to justify it.

I much prefer Maps to Clues (from a gameplay POV), and they play so so well. I had a great time at pre-release this weekend and felt very validated by my picks for the set, including my desire to go hard into Explore/Maps, which I had been a little skeptical about since it's a very robust...

Saw this on the Cubing Facebook group. Love the idea, hate the execution. I don't have Photoshop any longer (a recent development), so it took me much longer than I had planned for to make this: But hell yeah. Will print out a few of them for the next session.

Timeless Dragon When you open a booster pack with Timeless Dragon, you can't help but think "hey, a 5 mana 5/5 dragon, that's not bad!" but then you keep reading and realize the incredible flexibility on offer. Excellent modality is present at first blush, but what's even better is when you look...

Had a Cube night with my core playgroup since 2013 for the first time in a year (I briefly moved to Europe) and showed them the cards I was planning on including from the new set. They were excited by the new cards. But also, their eyes glazed over, and I could see almost all of them skipping...

I think it could be considered an un-fun design (particularly for retail draft, and particularly at rare instead of mythic) but I'm curious what you think is bad about the design.

Bribe them. Offer prizes with no entry fee for the first one, and it'll get enough hooked. Make sure you communicate that the prizes are a one-time thing, but if other people want to "sponsor" a Cube night, they're welcome to.

It's honestly one of my favorite cards from the set so far, but yeah, I forgot to post it myself! Love that it's at worst a split card between Etali, Primal Conqueror and Open Fire, exactly where I'd want my beefier red dudes to be.

Seems real good. The menace and haste are exactly what you'd want to justify the ability only triggering on attack, and 2 damage as a baseline is incredibly sweet. Red 3MV creatures are perhaps my most competitive slot, but I have to imagine these goblins will find a way to crack the list.
