There's so many stupid little variants. Golem or Goblin vs their Phyrexian counterpart.
The issue is the different planes and themes and flavor. They can't have Young Pyromancer make a 1/1 Goblin. They could have designed "Young Gobbomancer," but they didn't. You can't make a Spirit with a KLD...
I was noticing that a lot more of these cards are appealing since I upped my power level just a bit.
I was giving some consideration to token-swapping a lot of cards. Make every 1/1 flyer a Spirit or a Thopter. Every 3/3 a could be a Golem or Beast. UB makes it even more tempting, as I kind of...
Snow Wastes could be a cool way to get snow into the basic box without giving everyone full access to snow lands. Having to take a colorless basic is a cost.
Having the burn spells all correctly worded is really nice because it kind of matters. I'll still have to re-do like 100 of my proxies or something.
EDIT: I just checked and it's 133 cards in my current list. Ouch.
EDIT2: Do we think it'll still be "leaves THE BATTLEFIELD"?
I was struck with the same feeling this morning when looking over the complete set. I'm strongly considering using the nickname frame and doing a Universes Within treatment.
I'm also feeling like these UB sets are going to have people looking at a commander list in a few years and feeling like...
It's an ETB scry 2 with three toughness, which blocks more early threats, and a super high ceiling. I think it's cool.
Hell, that Jace is no slouch, either.
I think those are a cool way to spice up all but the higher power formats.
It is an it isn't. Increasing Domain to 6 is a real consideration.
I was thinking that maybe the Desolate cycle should be. "T: Add C. T, Sac: search for land type tapped." A monocolored slow fetch seems a lot better than the current design.
Fuck Oko. I'm not even gonna read that piece of shit.
Tinybones looks sweet, but I hate letting players gain control of the opponent's permanents (outside of Threaten) because it gets shuffled into the wrong deck so easily.
I don't like OG duals or triomes, personally. I like there to be a cost to your fetchable lands. Triomes are probably fine in a somewhat high power environment where coming in tapped is more significant, but the only "cost" to running a dual is picking it in the draft and having it be...
Cathedral Acolyte is pretty cool. You can think of it as a mana dork because it essentially adds a mana worth of stats to your creature. Definitely a good add for anyone pushing counters.
