@Chris Taylor @Brad Of your choices I rate them: Too strong: thrashing brontodon sifter of skulls kozilek, butcher of truth horned loch-whale Why? Well for three one should be getting a 2/2 with a great ability or a 3/3 without an ability (when demanding more pips). Brontodon is too strong for...

Yes, it was for a new project. I like many changes that were made since urza block. But the exponential strength of cards cmc wise is something I do not like. To clarify: yes cards that cost more should be stronger, but if one makes it exponential then low cost cards are not worth it. Often...

No. But maybe someone can add a picture of a painting/something else no one can understand. Maybe I should take a break since the low powered creatures are already high powered for me. It is sad that an answer to the etb nonsense is an etb creature itself.

Yes, but not against creatures. The power of the card lies against artifacts and planes walkers. Against those it is a banisher priest.

True. But you can stack equipment as opposed to vehicles. This implies that one can play more equipment than vehicles.

It is maybe a design mistake for a curse, but for a card is it that much of a mistake? It opens up beautiful play patterns. The curse as is is playable in a red control deck which does not attack. Maybe change the name to buried in gold and avoid the curse name in the type?

If all your targets are three mana creatures then yes there is a lot of trinket text. Still, returning multiple creatures is really different. Let alone the entering tapped, that sucks really hard. The tapped clause after victimising lost me the game around half of the times (and yes it was the...

Yes, as big as a disenchant with cycling. Unearth either has to broaden it's scope, e.g., add artifact, or it needs to be recyclable, e.g. cycling. In my low powered cube, it is the cycling which saves it. Edit : or sidestep it with more options like artifact /enchantments.

Why should they be mechanically identical? You want that silly ip cards should be like og mtg cards. Does it really matter that in corner cases like contested cliffs that the card gets stronger? If it should be a beast in proper magic, a beast it is. Similarly, a construct. You want to use the...

Returning one creature versus multiple is not something that should be swept under the rug (let alone with bonus counters). Unearth is only one return, your examples are multiple return. Something with apples and pears. I am known for playing low powered. I think returning one creature with cmc...

Why did they not color shift the og? Cycling does not hurt a very situational card at all.

It is much less activations than you think. After casting it you u tap the land used to cast it: 1 counter. Next turn activate 1: 2 Untap 2 lands and clock: 5 Activate 2: 10 Untap:13 Activate 3: 26 Untap: 29 Activate 4: 58 Untap: 61 Activate 5: 122 Untap: 125 Acivate 6: 250 Untap : 253 Activate...

Gollum requires a choice everytime. The ability is semi-grokable. But each time the owner gets to shuffle the top two card. The opponent has to make a choice on the outcome they want. And then guess correctly. This takes up quite some time. Cards to avoid are the ones which are most of the...

Gollum is not a good example. It is all gravy from the casters side. Look at it from the opponents side. Either the opponent guessed correctly and they cannot kill it through combat since gollom evades that. Or they failed to guess it and they cannot block it... It is a prime example of what...

That's why I put the madness example up there. Madness did not require rares during torment. Your example is one where rarity matters power wise is already going on.

And that is just where the stuff breaks down. You can either: 1) have a game for the game. 2) try to mix a game with nft (non-fungable token). I follow 1). Which implies no pay to win. And hence the power should not come from rares. You cannot have both: excitement for (artificial scarcity)...

Me neither. My mind goes from a to z to d to n to e and to a again to h in split seconds. Sometimes I need to take a few minutes and gather my thoughts. What if I put it like this when I put the changes and their reasons why in perspective: 1) they change things (for good or bad) 2) reasons...

I tried to ignore all the things going on: Some rightfully called bullshit. But then all those "reasons" pop up. It is a replay of all the changes before. Most of the changes have been money grabs and not improvements for the game. I have been around a long time. My take away of it all is: We...
