General Weekly Fun Q: What is your most undervalued card?

Hmm good one. Maybe flame jab This little card really hauls ass with Life from the Loam and other similar synergies. I think a lot of people forget how many x/1's there are, besides the fact that it operates as a repeatable spell/magecraft/whatever trigger. I feel like I probably have some...

I'm totally on the same page as dbs regarding flavor. A door to hell opens for a day, spews out all these underworldly horrors, and then collapses. Also, many, many, many permanents sacrifice themselves either at end of turn or via some other mechanism (including almost every saga). This is not...

and a perfect example of flavor-driven enchantment creature. It's a projection of light through magical stained glass. That's pretty enchantment-y Besides having that whole ethereal glow sparkly thing going on.

Only tangentially related, but TIL about escape: That makes escaping stuff like Cathartic Reunion a bit more punchy (it's basically 1R, escape 1 -> draw the best card out of the top three from your library).

I don't see the functional difference between Second Chance and Breach. Both have a condition that causes their self sacrifice. Just different conditions. And seal should definitely be an artifact if we are following the strict "everything has to follow a consistent pattern despite potential...

They've been doing the flavor-only thing for a hot, hot minute already. For example: I'm fine with flavor only implementations of cards. I just... want them to actually try to apply a bit of flavor.

But.. there is no flavor. It's just a normal dog. They even imply that it's a normal dog in the flavor text. A dog making friends with sprites is an enchantment??? Weak attempt WotC. I fully support enchantment creatures. They are great for design purposes. But like. they had literally so many...

There really aren't holes, at least the ones you seem to be stuck on. Why does the deck need grade A creatures at every single slot? Or for every single creature in the deck to have flash? Would you have the same concern about the creature curve in, say, a spells-matter deck? The flash deck I...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

Since it requires a lot of mana to activate, you might often end up without enough mana to cast that madness spell. It's really just inefficient for what it offers. Madness support, creature searching, properly efficient design, removable, pretty much everything needed is already solved with...

I also feel this way about a lot of the enchantment creatures in NEO. Theros had a clear world-building reason there were enchantment creatures, and they showed their enchanted-ness through the starfield patterns in their body. This is just a... normal puppy. If it was a spirit dog or something...

You can cast a 2 drop creature on T3 and use 1 mana for interaction or a cantrip or something. T5 can be a 2+3 or 1+4. T2 can be a creature or a counter. T4 can be 2+2, 3+1, etc etc. The problem you are struggling with doesn't really exist. The curve can still happen just fine. And flash.dec...

I agree wholeheartedly that this works best as a hybrid untap-flash deck. I ran this exact hybrid in RTR_THR standard. A great signpost for slower formats: prophet of kruphix

That doesn't change anything? It doesn't grant you anything with zero creatures. Again, the ability on Arkbow is usually card neutral. Both grant you a new ability that didn't exist for you before. An aura that fizzles because the target gets destroyed on cast is card disadvantage. Arkbow is not.

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

That's not card disadvantage any more than almost any other Enchantment is. You spend one card to get one card on the ability, and you spend the standard amount (one card) to play it to the table. Something Like Glorious anthem isn't "card disadvantage" just because it doesn't actively replace...
