I think maintaining the original effect but adding an additional drawback like "deals damage equal to its power to target creature and to you" is both flavourful and a significant nerf.

Oddly Uneven sounds fun, I will try that one. EDIT: Actually I checked and most creatures in the cube have an even number of words in their names, so it wouldn't work well (if you kill the goats you are probably leaving other creatures alive).
