Future Cycle

Isn't that interesting? I had the same experience, and its really difficult to articulate on a web forum, but it feels like a profoundly different form of magic from what we have today. I'm glad you got to have that experience. Modern era aggro is really parasitic and one drop focused...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

Yeah, that kind of distracts from the broader point he has to contend with. The data point you're suggesting isn't very clear either, and certaintly dosen't apply to his format. I'm seeing a lot of cards from my list mixing with a lot of cards from Jason's list, coupled with a removal suite...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

There is such a thing as RNG creatures. Things like baneslayer, that are giant non-etb bricks, and represent a giant tempo blow-out if bounced or hit with cheap removal, but if allowed to untap just win the game. Either way, based on RNG, someone is either about to be way ahead, or way behind...

General Creating a synergistic cube, as opposed to good-stuff

What worked for me ultimately was focusing on vague mechanical density in rooted wedges/shards, connected to something core to BREAD game mechanics, than having more defined themes nested beneth the wedge/shard in the color pairs. So, Grixis broadly becomes focused on sifting/looting (card...

The Penny Pincher Cube 2.0--Inventors' Fair

Put in the order for the alfonzo cards. Looked over his mana base, and going to try removing a set of bouncelands for 5 karoos, and 5 vivids. Will see how it goes, but if it works, it will be cool to finally achieve a singleton format. I also feel like I could expand it out to 540 if I had...

The Penny Pincher Cube 2.0--Inventors' Fair

I think it would be fine. If you check my sb, I've considered it about 5 million times. It dosen't ETB, and is mana intensive so I would be willing to give it a whirl. I realize vore isn't raw value, but its more of a tapered build around card for red. Its not as narrow as lab man in blue...

The Penny Pincher Cube 2.0--Inventors' Fair

Should be cool, don't see why it would be OP. Have a couple draft decks to show off. Added some bonzo cards, but haven't updated all of the cards from the list in RL yet Kirb was looking for a vore deck: www.cubetutor.com/cubedeck/841238"] Ones 1 Apostle's Blessing 1 Blossoming...

Well, since it happens you're on the dev end of your cube's design, you can create those choices whenever you like.

    Card/Deck The Orzhov Syndicate (WB)

Yeah, the B/W or Mardu Artifact deck is super dope, just really fun. Going deep on eggs as a recursive engine is always a blast, and you get those cool Mirodin style decks where the colorless core lets you go in neat directions, since its largely immune to color fixing concerns. Its the type of...

Alfonzo's cube does a pretty good job with the artifact theme and cute build arounds for BW: www.cubetutor.com/cubedeck/839765"] Ones 1 Bloodforged Battle-Axe 1 Student of Warfare Twos 1 Adorned Pouncer 1 Eternal Dragon 1 Key to the City 1 Kor Skyfisher 1 Rotting Rats 1 Seeker of the...

    Card/Deck The Orzhov Syndicate (WB)

The main problem orzhov has in something like 99.9% of cubes, is that its midrange designs compete very poorly against U/x decks, so it tends to get regulated to small creature aggro frameworks. Its small creature decks tend to do fairely well, providing there are enough black drain life...

The Penny Pincher Cube 2.0--Inventors' Fair

Thats a really strong argument for key > tome. I had completly forgot about muddle, and perhaps I should consider shred memory. Looking over lands, besides the santarium, there is that vehicle that flips from xialian into conqueror's foothold...and than...bazaar of baghdad! They are really...

Your realistic options are these cards: Collective Brutality Doomfall Mesmeric Fiend Kitesail Freebooter Of the options, brutality is the overall best, though you don't run mesmeric fiend, and that is a very good, bad thoughtseize, so maybe run mez fiend.

The Penny Pincher Cube 2.0--Inventors' Fair

I kind of want to move away from a creature based looting effect. A lot of the time the decks that automaton was going into really wanted the discard effect, but than it gets killed, and that hurts the deck. Plus I don't really like the draft shenanigans.

The Penny Pincher Cube 2.0--Inventors' Fair

Just remembered I run this card: Mindless Automaton Which is a sifter kind of, and has been surprisingly high pick as a discard outlet. Maybe I can cut that for tome. Don't even know what else to cut for key ugh. Maybe I can get away with just tomb or key.
