Also implies that Innistrad zoning regulations ensure that post-mortem workforce creation industries are located away from population centres. Very sensible.

This sounds intriguing. Where can the original article be found.

I don't know if anyone else here frequents BoardGameGeek, but there was an interesting article there today about game balance, by none other than Richard Garfield.

That is a good summary of how SYE! works, though you can gain speed from other life loss, not just attacking. Once you are at speed 4, SYE! cards come into play fully operational, so if you have several in your deck they are synergistic. Of course no other sets have this mechanic (and hopefully...

The shark pirate is the only card so far that I plan to include, and I like that it is both a payoff and enabler for the discard deck, with a little bit of +1/+1 counter bleed for good measure. I agree that the art for Marketback is rather lovely. It reminds me of some of Mark Tedin’s classic...

What would happen if you curved into Blade Splicer? Two 3/3 Golems with slightly worse double strike? Surveil 1 would be too good... or would it?

I tried this out for Foundations and found that the following 12 cards are part of the set but not in boosters: (game:paper) set:fdn -in:booster Why aren't those cards in boosters? What's going on?

While I understand where you are coming from, in limited there is a cost to putting the card in your deck: you have spent a draft pick. Unless you are playing a desert cube, the basics are free.

    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

This is true but bear in mind that you can get up to 9 mana worth of permanents onto the battlefield.

    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

It's a fairly strong card, but will only be as strong as the permanents you are returning with it. I think it is fun and rewards creative deck building.

The Foundation card Spinner of Souls is a nice payoff for your creatures dying, though not if they are tokens.

I hadn't realised that art cards count as dual faced. Nor had I realised how many universes beyond cards there are. Also, the art for Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad is really funny: it looks like the assassin is trying to murder a giant knight.

There were no dungeons in the game until AFR. I would not be surprised to see race tracks as an external game piece, and overtake as an ability that moves you along the track. Unlike dungeons the tracks would be shared and the first player to the end would take the prize. Look forward to it...

In terms of mana costs that keep a card focused on a certain colour pair, I liked the design of cards like Quandrix Cultivator. I’d like to see it pushed to {G/U}{G/U}{G}{U}, which keeps things focused on that guild but allows a bit of leeway if you don’t see two of each colour on turn four.

I don't really like the play pattern with Riddleform, as you have to cast your spell before combat if you want to attack with it. Jeskai Elder I have played in my cube with some success: as Mondschwein says, it fits into more than one deck type, and even in the aggressive spellslinger decks the...
