    General Infinite Power Creep

I’m waiting until 360 cards have been listed, then I’m going to build the Infinite Power Creep Cube. So balanced. Such player agency. Every card can be answered!

    Sets (TDM) Tarkir: Dragonstorm Previews!

That art makes me want to build a whole new cube. Annie Stegg has only produced the art for one other card, but I hope will be continuing to produce work for future sets.

    Sets (TDM) Tarkir: Dragonstorm Previews!

How is Trainmaster a rationalist Sisyphus? The joy is palpable in their description of Rakshasha's Bargain and, if we are to agree with Camus when he writes "il faut imaginer Sisyphe heureux", we must deduce that if Trainmaster is happy they have rejected rationalism and embraced the absurdity...

    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

Probably more ninjitsu, but it wasn't played ver much before getting cut. {3}{B} casting cost and {1}{B} ninjitsu cost, similar to Ninja of the Deep Hours, would have made it an all-star.

Flavour text writers are sending a message to the rules templating team.

    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

I ran this card for a while in my cube, using ninjitsu as part of a blink archetype across Esper colours. Although the saboteur effect is powerful (unrestricted choice as well as permanent exile of the card) and you can reset the counter by blinking it, the card always felt a little clunky and...

    Sets (TDM) Tarkir: Dragonstorm Previews!

This wouldn’t work because rule 702.40 says that affinity reduces the cost of a spell based on how many of something you control, but rule 108.4 says you only control permanents and spells on the stack. You don’t control cards in your graveyard, you own them.

    Sets (TDM) Tarkir: Dragonstorm Previews!

It is kinda funny that if you look on a preview thread you see cards from a quarter of a century ago. It also strikes me as a bit odd that we have two releases this year set in fantasy worlds based on East Asian myths and cultures, as we have the Avatar: the Last Airbender coming out in November.

I made some assumptions (you kept a 2 land hand and didn't mulligan) but based on hypergeometric calculations the chance of this is 0.04%. My personal view is that this is the cost of playing magic, and games that have tried to "solve" the mana system are less satisfactory. My favourite...

    Sets (TDM) Tarkir: Dragonstorm Previews!

As a state-based action it goes to a zone that doesn't have a name.

    Sets [FIN] [UB] Final Fantasy

Seems likely. The chances of there being two evil geniuses of your particular malevolence seem vanishingly small.

A lot of legacy board games have finite campaigns with a story behind them and additional elements added to each chapter. Have you been tempted to build the cube to tell a story in this way? Brothers War legacy cube might be pretty cool, with cards added to depict the escalating arms race and...

Getting flashbacks to my friend’s Varchild's War-Riders, Aether Flash, Repercussion deck.

I don’t know how much of a metric this is but “Final Fantasy mtg cards” came up as a trending Google search on my work computer today (where I am not in the habit of lurking on cube forums). Lord of the Rings was reportedly the most popular set ever, and I don’t remember seeing anything like this.

Also implies that Innistrad zoning regulations ensure that post-mortem workforce creation industries are located away from population centres. Very sensible.

I don't know if anyone else here frequents BoardGameGeek, but there was an interesting article there today about game balance, by none other than Richard Garfield.

That is a good summary of how SYE! works, though you can gain speed from other life loss, not just attacking. Once you are at speed 4, SYE! cards come into play fully operational, so if you have several in your deck they are synergistic. Of course no other sets have this mechanic (and hopefully...
