Speaking of ramp strategies, how do we feel about ? Like, turn 3 Yavimaya Elder into turn 4 this seems like big game.

This is an obvious plant for Emerge strategies. I don't know how many cubes without really, really heavy sacrifice themes will be able to make use of her.

I know most of these won't be high enough power for most of our cubes, but power is a relative thing and there's a lot of really cool designs in this set. Also, read Shreds of Sanity again. It gets an instant and a sorcery.

I've run Guildmage for a while, and so far she's pulled her weight. Shutting down planeswalkers is a big game, and she can eventually tap down multiple guys a turn. Meanwhile, I think I ran hoplite and was happy with him maybe once in Theros draft.

Command is way, waaaaay better than Dimir Charm.

I've run geist before and it's been underwhelming. The drawback hurts more than you think. Drake seems too hard to turn on for the payoff. Efreet is a little outside the color pie these days, but it's tried and true.

I like it, though it's a pretty recent addition to my cube. It's only poked its head up in a couple games, but it's done serious work each time.

Captain's Claws Does anyone have any experience with this? It doesn't feel that far off from Bonesplitter, and I like that it makes extra bodies for the sacrifice deck.

I like Firespout. I had it in for a while, but I actually cut it a while back because I felt like I had too many sweepers and aggro was suffering as a result. Don't have much experience with Branching Bolt, but I don't see why it couldn't work in the right environment.
