In my cube at least, the list of possible triggers is about the same for both creatures, and maybe even a bit bigger for the Vampire when counting tokens. My count of creatures CMC 3 and less and creatures power 2 or less are both about 125. I think for me the free draw once a turn on ETB is...

Seems like an extremely narrow window of possibility for actually becoming a problem in the power department. - has to have relevance over a long period because evergreen keywords are added very slowly relatively speaking (beyond standard timescales, which is their primary balancing focus) - has...

Odric nooooo For real though, this seems pretty cool if you have a RW artifact beatdown/aggro strategy. It can potentially generate a lot of artifacts to power up metalcraft, affinity, etc etc. And of course opens up any discard synergies that deck might also be tapping into. Like most...

This is one beefy flash kraken. I like this style of card in that it doesn't overtly protect itself (besides from counters obvs) but it does help you do that with the other cards in your deck.

Edgar originally created vampirism on Innistrad during a widespread famine to (besides granting immortality) provide an alternate food source for some people of the plane as well as put population pressure on humans. That seems fairly white in a very authoritarian sort of way.

Throwback to crawling sensation but for creatures this time. Notably one of your creatures dying on your turn counts towards the ability, which is pretty strong.

I'm smellin' a modern inclusion here... This is really good Cemetary Gatekeeper 1R Creature - Vampire First strike When Cemetary Gatekeeper enters the battlefield, exile a card from a graveyard. Whenever any player plays a land or casts a spell, if it has the same type as the...

Isn't that pretty much exactly the wording they did use? unless I'm missing something. I think it should be a bulleted list like choice phrases are. Mill the top card of your library, if it's a: - Land, do X - creature, do Y - nonland, noncreature, do Z

The solid block of text (without reminder text as mentioned) over 55 words long causes me to really wrinkle my nose. I really think they could use a variant of their choose one templating to make this sort of effect much easier to read. All this talk of textbox length has me considering...

It would have to be very different to be green. I'm just appreciating the continued support for white discard. this can replace or be run alongside seasoned hallowblade. I'm tipping towards replace.

This leg of the cycle is a noxious gearhulk variant that can potentially boop a planeswalker or some other corner case involving counters. Fairly meh, but alright.

fun card. The first point of comparison for the backside that comes to my mind is approach of the second sun, and both seem to have similar "dwell times" between first notice and game win/loss.

When they started trying to cram (even) more words in. I think 2019 or 2020 at some point. That's a shortcut I forgot to mention in my "longer textboxes" posts
