Yeah they seems to have backtracked on that particular assessment recently with mechanics like Delirium and more recent printings of various GY counting.

 I think I'm in love. The utility, the end game punch, the self-mill synergy, the fixing. wow.

Cute. That GY exile isn't a trifling amount of life gain.

6 is pretty dang deep to dig, and this can dig for anything noncreature (nonland), so helps artifact decks, can dig out a PW, etc. And on top of it all its a flier. I like it!

UB zombies is pretty workable. I already run Gisa and Geralf (who make this pretty obnoxious on it's own) and they work just fine. Gravecrawler does it with this for half the mana ;)

3/1 is quite a bit more impactful IMO than the 2/2 of Necromancer, offsetting the rarer tribe. And it can still block! ;) Also off the chains with Gravecrawler good lord

Can block, check. can trigger more than once per turn, check. Aggressive P/T, check. Zombie tokens can also block lol, check. This is a really solid card!

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

Unfortunately the ruling on the specific card doesn't clarify one way or the other. I'm guessing that tilts things in favor of "yeah it works like usual"

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

I assume that's true for this too, but it does read differently: "has the text box of" instead of "has the abilities of". Not sure if that messes with the rules at all.

    Sets (VOW) Crimson Vow

Wow this is a strong instant for limited, and a strong contender for replacement of Compulsive Research of all things O_o. Even my 2.5 color decks run 9-10 basics usually.

Nice! I notice that the spell doesn't even have to be a creature. Or a permanent for that matter, except when it checks on ETB. A one drop with a built in failsafe if drawn late is generally pretty good, and you don't even have to spend mana (on a kicker for example).

    Sets (VOW) Crimson Vow

pretty strong! Even on an otherwise empty board the first token is a 2/2, and you can of course get back spicy ETB effects etc. I think I like this better than god-pharaoh's gift because it requires mana to utilize and doesn't immediately start popping out 4/4's without other synergies going on.

    Sets (VOW) Crimson Vow

This is really cool take on a compulsive research. I think the maximum hand size reduction doesn't affect that many tempo decks much at all, but probably does make life tricky for control decks. Talk about beefcake potential for the human tribal folks

    Sets (VOW) Crimson Vow

looting is in of itself a pretty big upside, sometimes better to have than straight drawing. And no evasion as inscho mentions. As cute as the kitty is, I think there are better options.

I personally like it. The filigree circle drawing your eye around the close up shot of what is depicted in the background is very cool. What does seem noteworthy to me is that this is printed at common. Dealing with artifacts going to be important soon? Does draft mix up packs between sets now...

    Sets (VOW) Crimson Vow

well hello there. Great with a reanimation spell, as you have a high chance of having a couple lands in land still, and it can potentially power you out to end-game land counts in one go.

    Sets (VOW) Crimson Vow

Huh, this is pretty neat. Strong flier that generates artifacts in black (artifacts that enable discard synergies) and can self-enable resurrection if it gets two hits in. Does have the very real issue of not having reminder text if this is going to be your only blood token inclusion (compare...
