Erik's Boredom cube (Low power, budget)

That's an interesting card LadyMapi, never seen it before. I would actually like some advice for Green token cards that are cheap and interesting. I only know the same high-powered staples of old.

Erik's "The cool side of Magic" cube

I've been cutting my proxies and pasting them only to notice I forgot to print my entire red section of the cube. Ouch! I'll have to go to the printer. Any suggestions or changes for my red bit? I'll do this for sure: Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker ->Zealous Conscripts Kiki-Jiki didn't really do...

    General Timespiral Remastered Timeshifts

Is this a real-life draft? I haven't played Magic in years and my experience with the community was awful, but I might be willing to go to a real-life draft if it's Time Spiral.

Erik's Boredom cube (Low power, budget)

I'm baaack! I'm bored again, which means more working on cubes. Here's the question: If you wanted to make Naya a tokens-based shard, how would you do it? Give me some recommendations :) Also, I went back to the drawing board to make a clearer structure for spells matter. I also have to face...

    General CBS

Thanks for the comments Zoss. I agree very much that she's kind of a removal-check. The thing is, I'm not sure it's as powerful as it appears. Let me share my reasoning and see if you agree. On the turn you play her, she does nothing. If she's cheaply killed, which is likely it's a tempo loss...

    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

I haven't played Village Rites in cube yet, but it has been absolutely fantastic in constructed. I want to add a copy of it to my cube. Here's the deal: 1) It's instant and cost just one mana. It's a massive improvement over every other similar card. Two cards is also a substantial amount. 2)...

I would take Oyobi. If you are making that rule, why not take the chance to rock some less known cards? I also like the effect and that it can be easily splashed.

I like Stalking Stones but I think it's out of place in Modern Magic. 6 mana plus a seventh land is a lot and limited manabases are shaky enough that colorless lands are hard to justify. I don't like Cradle of the Accursed at all. Sacrificing a land to get a 2/2 at sorcery speed when you have...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

Living Death is powerful enough on its own to make it all sorts of decks but it also rewards synergy to a enough of a degree to justify running lesser cards to support it. It's a great design.

    General The Best Card Sleeves

Sadly, there's no best sleeve. The choice is between Ultra Pro Eclipse and Dragon Shield and they both have serious drawbacks. Ultra Pro Eclipses pick up gunk. I don't know why, but they become dirty very quickly. I picked them up and ended up replacing them in less than a tournament season...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

A three-mana planeswalker that loots twice per turn is going to be good even before you steal an artifact. Just stealing a mana rock or creature is more than enough to make it way above curve. Even then, it's just not interesting compared to another welder effect in Daretti.

General Interesting Cards at High Power Levels

Sulfuric Vortex is a no-brainer that goes into just one archetype and makes a large amount of decks unviable. Really, it doesn't matter how you stabilize to use Life from the Loam, if I play Vortex there's a very narrow window for you to win or it will kill you. It's not necessary to make aggro...

Kor Haven is very strong. Having that effect stapled to a land is much better than it appears.

Séance So, what is this? Can it work? It looks like a card to make white care about grveyard synergies and blink at the same time. Or perhaps it's just bad, I don't know.

    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

Magus of the Wheel is great. A 3/3 that refills your hand is not bad. Since you can active it at the end of turn, it's easier to break the symmetry on it. It's a great include of most lists. The main problem with the card is that it's yet another 3-drop. Magus of the Will is a much weaker...

Erik's Boredom cube (Low power, budget)

I've been thinking about the topic, making drafts and trying to find archetypes only to realize that the answer has been staring in my face the whole time Naya should be the aggro section of the cube. 1) I'm working with very broad archetypes. Lands, +1/+1 counters and the like are much...

Erik's Boredom cube (Low power, budget)

That's the problem Nanonox, I can't really think of a big overaching theme for Naya that isn't best realized as a smaller pair. I think Lands is probably the closest. But I'm not sure how to draw white into the theme, much less with the budget restrictions. No Loam, Crucible and the like puts...

Erik's Boredom cube (Low power, budget)

First, I want to thank you guys for all the suggestions. I've been thinking about them and even doing some drafts. The problem is as follows: Spells, Graveyard and grinding value from ETBs are very broad themes. They can go in very different decks and be built in countless ways. But +1/+1...
