I agree, I think if I were to build an art-curated Cube, the criteria for inclusion would be broader than "cute little guys" or even "cards which contain characters which could feasibly be Lesbians." I would probably just take the "cards with art I like" approach and maybe include some cards...

I'd rather they just complete the cycle of five 2 mana creatures with Charming in the name. I don't think Aether Channeler or Callous Bloodmage are worthy successors to Charming Prince.

It sounds like you will get more mileage out of Spectral Sailor. I don't think most drafters will look at Thousand-Faced Shadow and see anything other than a Ninjas card, especially if you're about to have an influx of players who haven't drafted the Cube before.

Honestly, if Reckless Impulse is performing well in the Cube, I would just play both rather than doing a 1 for 1 swap. The draw-two impulse is such a nice effect for Red decks that some redundancy is totally warranted. I don't think these are directly comparable outside of both being flying...
