I think all restrictions that you make for your cube should be purpose based. That is to say, the reason you chose to run a card should be based on something tangible and meaningful, like its cost or its effect on gameplay.

I absolutely do not buy into this notion at all. If I did, I certainly wouldn't bother with the work, research and expense involved in cube maintenance.

Aggro > Control > Midrange > Aggro ? What is the point of cubing if only 33% of the games are worth playing? Shouldn't the point be to ensure that there are interesting matchups regardless of what archtype you play? Do people actually design with this in mind?

In the spirit of Theros, giving the Jackal Pup etb Scry X seems like it makes sense. I mean, Jackal's are supposed to be clever Sorcerers and what is more clever then looking at the top card of your deck?
