In my experience people really love having fitting, good looking tokens, and they rarely bother to search for those. So, kinda the opposite experience with my players.

Ihave my tokens all sorted by color and within those alphabetically. No issue to find that one black 2/4 spider token.

Hm, yeah, that sounds like an improvement. I haven't printed them yet, so I can try out something these days.

I loved these theme decks during the first few years, before I started to switch to single buying. I had two from 9th, 6 from the og ravnica block, oe from coldsnap, one from time spiral and one from 10th. I didn't care wether the cards were worth something, for me they were.

Man, these stories are awesome and it makes me really miss these old theme decks. My first 60-card deck (for some reason the core set decks only had 40) was Dimir Intrigues in ravnica. It had, alongside other mill card like Belltower Sphinx and Psychic Drain also three copies of Vedalken...

The card always played better than you would expect, mostly because mono {B} decks tend to have quite a bit of recursion at hand anyway, so a giant flier is often the right horse to bet on. I'm happy if you do. Not sure if CC is back up now, but you'll find the link to that and to my thread in...

I'll fight for this artwork. It might be less iconic, but I think it fits the card better (looking very black instead of red) and displays a higher artistic skill. Also, why would I prefer something other people are nostalgic for?

My first rares were Nightmare and Underworld Dreams from the "Dead Again" starter deck. The former is still in my cube and has had a huge impact on it's design, uncluding the lower, casual like power level and the support for mono color.

Really good and close, it was the 9th Edition core set, just a few weeks before Ravnica: City of Guilds hit the shelves. But the very first card I've ever owned was a Moonbow Illusionist, which was a gift from another guy in my class after I watched them playing.

It costs zero to suspend though, being able to play a 1-drop alongside it is huge. Especially in a ramp shell.

I think the tribal on the captain is no problem, it works perfectly fine with itself. But yeah, if your power level can take it, the Angel is more interesting.
