How old are the Extended lists you are looking at, because Damnation is quite a bit newer than Pernicious Deed. In fact, there's six years between them! Since Extended as a supported format ceased to exist in 2013, Damnation got half as much time in the format as Deed.

That's quite a bit higher powered than I envisioned. One of my opponents had this at the prerelease, and it absolutely owned me.

That's certainly a card I would be happy to play in an enchantment matters deck, but I would also run it in any other BG deck. It's not something that draws you into the archetype.

Hard same. Especially because the One Ring is dangerous to use. I was scanning it multiple times to discover the downside, but there is none. From a play experience point of view I get it, but it's a pretty big flavor fail.
