    Sets [FIN] [UB] Final Fantasy

Mechanics absolutely fit Edgar's flavor. I imagine most cubes that want Edgar, King of Figaro are looking at the first ability, but hell, live the Ral Zarek dream, whatever!

    Sets [FIN] [UB] Final Fantasy

oh, there's also this little number, which I suspect I'll enjoy very much in retail draft: it does its thing as cheaply as possible which is always interesting

    Any Polymorph enjoyers?

Elite Inquisitor He may not have protection from spooky Dog Spirits...
  5. Seeker

    Sets [FIN] [UB] Final Fantasy

Fiiine, twist my arm, here is my dog depicting me exactly when a new such sword appears, ears, tongue, and all: (he had just woken up, you can tell because the ears are red, clearly someone talked about Buster Sword near him)
  6. Seeker

    Sets [FIN] [UB] Final Fantasy

My ears always perk up a little when I hear "sword of X and Y except no protection", so welcome, Sword of Bus and Ter I'm not in the market for a weird Chandra's Ignition flashback Bedlam Reveler trigger... thing? But if I was this would be it!

    Sets [FIN] [UB] Final Fantasy

Big fan of this and Summon: Bahamut as surprisingly interesting cheating-in targets in slightly different ways (would rather Sneak Attack a Bahamut, but would rather Show and Tell a KotR, and so on)

I'm sad that Mitotic Ultimus is Arena-only.

this cube seems legit I love, checks notes Segovian Sword and Unclaimed Battle Axe

Do you want Irenicus's Vile Duplication instead? Just asking because a lot of people don't know that it exists.

I really dislike Sun Titan - there's power there, but it fits so poorly with the decks that want to include, and then cast, white six drops. Maybe if you could run the lick-and-stick with Phantasmal Image every game? But even then, if I can guarantee I draw Image and something my first choice...
  12. Seeker

    Sets [FIN] [UB] Final Fantasy

Fling except a big butt or an indestructible idiot survives it. Bonus synergies with anything modifying "dealing damage" (lifelink! infect! squirrellink!) or whatever.

"spending four or more mana on a noncreature spell" theme is not just one card!
  14. Seeker

    Sets [FIN] [UB] Final Fantasy

I don't know of another card to compare it to, but I think in practice, you'll miss it when you first read it totally out of context like here, then you'll cast it for the first time and say something like "all your stuff dies, your Blood Artist triggers and I take... waaaaaait, end the turn...
  15. Seeker

    Sets [FIN] [UB] Final Fantasy

I'm not often tempted by five mana wraths, but: While it's no Fumigate, the slow deck that wants a five mana wrath will likely appreciate having Bonus Random Shatterstorm. And it doesn't mind the turn ending - which isn't all downside either, because it means "dies" triggers get removed from...
  16. Seeker

    Sets [FIN] [UB] Final Fantasy

all the rare equipments, plus the one uncommon we've seen so far, have them with one of the job's weapons' names: Summoner's Grimoire Dragoon's Lance also I like a starter deck card for once cause it's just Big Dumb Idiot:
  17. Seeker

    Sets [FIN] [UB] Final Fantasy

There's also Goldberry, River-Daughter, though she only removes one lore counter every other turn since she has to move it off herself afterwards.
  18. Seeker

    Sets [FIN] [UB] Final Fantasy

Almost certainly not, unfortunately: There might be a sixth colorless one as part of the cycle, which is why I say "almost certainly", but I wouldn't bet on it.
  19. Seeker

General [Almost Daily] Every Set in Magic, Cube Edition

When it first got spoiled, I showed that card to my wife, who does not play Magic, and asked her who it depicted - and, of course, she instantly said "the boys!". I agree with you that it's the only reference that isn't bad.
