There's a balance to tread in everything. You don't seem like the kind of man to speak only to harm someone, so some caution is necessary. Harm is just hard to quantify

At least the other half of the combo is a legitimate ammount of lifegain. I don't think anyone's playing whip of erabos for the lifelink alone, but whatitcalled does randomly gain you life when they fetch or use a painland or untap a shock :P

I always found it kinda shit, but then again I settled on wasteland as the mana denial of choice. Is x4 port stronger for a cube than x4 tectonic edge? I always hated having to keep investing mana into the thing, where the other options were one and done, but didn't let you "undo" the land...

I'm with bootman here. Cube would be a far worse place if each color had one strategy I think. The real measure is how many different strategies exist, not which colors do those strategies, but variety is nice

I do too, but mana is good here, and I don't think you should never run CC cards. Ash Zealot has been so successful I've added a second, for example. It's an interesting idea. I'm not sure how fun a +n/+n aura is even if it does go off, but maybe. I was actually thinking of improving the base...

I'm not too sold on landfall as a build around. From my experience playing boros bushwacker in standard, the deck had this akward problem of needing to draw both gas and a land to keep going. I can probably mitigate that by making the fetchland case worse and the no land drop case better, but...
