The faster mana rocks will be sniped harder I'm afraid. If you think felwar stone makes a control deck good, grim monolith makes it better. Why t3 wrath when you can just skip straight to the lategame with t3 grave titan? For the wildfire archetype, what I've done is limit which rocks show up...

I like it! Good reward for saving it for later, but a few random life off a land drop is find (kabira crossroads) plus random awesome moments with pingers/grim lavamancer

how about 3/2 flying, discard at random? I like the random discard, it adds an interesting tension there that you usually don't find.
