Interesting thought: is the fact that recent sets have so many cool cards people want to Cube with really a problem with modern design? You mention how Aetherdrift is a set you both dislike but also has a relatively large number of cards that you're giving a whirl in your Cube. And yeah...

WOTC keeps previewing stuff that is tangentially related to Dragons, but aren't actually Dragons themselves. They're telling us to Behold a Dragon without giving us any Dragons to behold! Oh well, at least there's always Rith, the Awakener.

I feel like they would be pretty similar in power level. Flying is usually stronger than Prowess outside of dedicated Prowess decks. If the base creature had Prowess, it would be a stronger Constructed card, but I think they would be somewhat comparable in limited.

A Doomed Traveler that makes a Monk token would be super cool. It would be awesome if the base creature also had Prowess!

I honestly don't have a lot to say with this one, These are Elspeth and Ugin. Elspeth was confirmed today via an Art preview and Ugin was confirmed back when the "Tarkir: Dragonstorm" name was announced. I think these "decayed" counters may actually be giving creatures the decayed keyword...

I love these cards, but I would not want them in a Cube with the regular Fetchlands, especially if the mana base plays duplicates. They want their own environment to shine.

I think it kind of depends on what you're doing. Phyrexian Rager is still at a good rate and has proven itself to be an awesome card in its recent outings in retail limited. I would suspect you'd want something akin to the Regular Cube in order for it to be truly great, but it wouldn't be bad in...

I think people used to play this card in Vintage Cubes! Simic had a severe lack of cool cards before the Return to Ravnica block.

One of the things I've noticed in environments using "Hearthstone Mana" is that high-mana plays are more powerful than they usually are since players can play them on time guaranteed. As such, using a card as simplistic as the humble Colossal Dreadmaw as top end necessitates bumping up the power...

The strongest of the Dragons is actually Rith, The Awakener. It saw a fair bit of play in Fires and No Fires decks back in the day!
