Chittering Rats? E: Also Brutalizer Exarch Double E: I forgot the exact modes on Exarch, I thought it put permanents on top of the opponent's library. Though that would mean you'd search your own library for a creature and put it on the bottom, which might not be as good.

    General Custom Cards: The Lab

According to Wikipedia (lol) the legend rule only kicks in if there are two permanents which share the same name and are both legendary. I thought it worked the way you’re saying, where each legendary checks each other permanent to see if they share a name, but apparently not.

    General Custom Cards: The Lab

Has there ever been a card that makes non legendary copies of legendary permanents? I didn’t realise the rules would let that work and it’s a cool thing to be able to do.

I'd define bombs as cards that can win you the game on their own, and Metamorph by definition can't do that. I'm not arguing it's not very good, nor that it's not a powerful first pick, but its power comes from its flexibility and flexibility is something I feel is very important in cube cards.

I don't have as much incentive to do it right now.

General Optimal Draft Variants for Less than 8 Players

I've got a four player draft planned for this weekend and I will probably try this out. I usually do 5 packs of 9 for 4 players, which I do like, but having the overall card pool be greatly reduced can be an issue.

It also seems like a lot of the time you're going to get a pack with two cards in it, this and something unusable, and you hatedraft this to stop someone else getting the bonus.

On the other hand, it is useful to have first pickable cards that don't tunnel you into a specific archetype straight away. Being able to stay open and see what's flowing is good drafting and having cards that allow that is important.

Something like this might also be a good way to reintroduce ante. If you've listened to the latest episode of Limited Resources, it's a "set review" of Alpha and they talk about ante in that. The main problem is that losing an important card you own is a real feel bad moment, but when it's...

    General Custom Cards: The Lab

I like the idea of cards caring about the draft process itself as it feels like a sort of Un-set/Conspiracy design (which I'm a fan of) in an area which Wizards can't really venture into. The specific designs you've posted are probably a bit too swingy, but something like: Mindswapper...

General GRBS colorless pack 1 pick 1 cards

There are a couple of reasons why I don't think EDH is a good format: 1. The "Social Contract" and the idea that in order to have a good EDH game you have to be playing for fun and not to win. Whenever the "fun" way to play a game and the "best" way to play a game are at odds, it's poorly...

General GRBS colorless pack 1 pick 1 cards

I've been doing this for a while and I like the results a lot. It means you have to be cleverer about getting your sword hits in as you can't rely on it to be unblockable, and doesn't remove counterplay from the opponent by cutting off their creature removal.

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

One thing that is a bit weird about Eternalize is that none of the eternal creatures in the set are 4/4s, and they all (mostly? I didn't check) have Afflict which I don't think any of the Eternalize cards do. So there's kind of two different types of eternal which is slightly jarring.

I was also going to mention Battle Box Magic, where you have a shared library you draw from with no lands, and a set aside pile of 5 basics and 5 ETB tapped duals that you can play one of each turn. It's like a cross between Magic and Hearthstone where you always get 1 land per turn, although...
