    Article ChannelFireball: Utility Land Draft

I like Blighted Woodland because it works so well with all of my high-end green threats. To quote the other thread: Rampaging Baloths Lotus Cobra Titania, Protector of Argoth Avenger of Zendikar Blighted Fen also seems like it is workable, but I haven't tested it.

General Limiting on-board PWs by limiting PW types

I was wondering if this idea had any merit. I always hate it when there are multiple PWs on one side of the table, and one way to marginally cut down on this would be to make sure PWs of a given color share the same type. So, instead of Jace and Tamiyo, we run: Jace, the Mind Sculptor Jace...

    Card/Deck Flagstones of Trokair

It's worth a pick 13th - 15th in a pack. It will make your deck ~100% of the time you are playing white. Only real downside is if you run out of fetchable basics for things, but I doubt cube is the environment for that.

My list is in some serious need of updating. Help me. Are the Cloudposts dumb? They feel super gimmicky to me right now. I'm kind of embarased by them. Nobody ever runs High Market or Cathedral of War, right? What about Contested War Zone? What fixing should I run? Was the "Temple of <choice>"...

    General Archetype Support

Yeah, we could never get anyone to bite on it over here. I'm actually not sure I like the combo with Titania. 2 cards, 5 mana, make 35 power and gain 12 life is.. I mean, it's cool, but... not sure how to feel about it.

    Card/Deck Flagstones of Trokair

Yeah, I like that Boom // Bust has more interactions though. Always looking for more things for people to do with fetchlands.

    Card/Deck Human 2-drops

Speaking personally, I am not against multiple Confidants, but it's never felt like an effect I needed multiples of. It's not that black two drops suck necessarily, but more that the ones that don't suck aren't human. I could see the argument for it (interacts with Champions and Brainstorms...

    General Archetype Support

Well, in my post I wrote that "most the cards in your cube should be...", and I stand by that. I don't think having a couple cards like Hardened Scales is bad, but the more we include, the more we start to "pre-build" the deck for the drafter. Since nobody else wants them, they're guaranteed to...

    General Archetype Support

Yeah, I can see it's value as kind of a "first step" in thinking about what you want for your design. A first draft before dozens of revisions set in. Many of my archetype design (personally) comes from finding a cool "build-around" and stuffing the cube with as many non-narrow interaction...

    Card/Deck Flagstones of Trokair

Flagstones of Trokair Flagstones has almost no drawback. It's targettable by Wasteland, but even this doesn't seem advantageous for your opponent. But how can we get any value out of it? Edge of Autum Harrow Mostly while ramping. Harrow and Edge of Autumn go into overdrive with Flagstones...

    General Archetype Support

I'm going to be honest, I kind of hate this idea. There are so many cube threads that start out with a list of what they want each guild to do, but, it feels kind of heavy handed. Whenever I implement an archetype, I want it to spread into as many colors as possible, usually with some sort of...

    General Archetype Support

Combat tricks rarely work their way into constructed, in large part because they are inherently situational. They have to be applied in a setting where there are attackers and blockers, where a mid-combat spell can trump the opponent somehow. Compare this to an unconditional Swords to Plowshares...

    Card/Deck Bonfire of the Damned

I would say, don't run it, it's a win more. Imagine their best creature is a 5/5 and yours is a 4/4. You can wipe things away but they'll still be left with a 5/5 against your 4/4. There are situations where this is good, but it's precisely that: situational. I wouldn't see myself including...
