General Decks that have 3-0'd your cube

What dash cards are you running? It actually seems like a really sweet mechanic, when you're looking for all kinds of different triggers. (Dashing in with mardu scout with a Purphoros seems filthy)

By the same token I don't think running eesh norn sounds very fun I'm going with battlesphere. At least you can like, wrath or doom blade it or something, sundering titan can just end games when cast in an uninteractive way.

lust for war Has anyone tried this in their cubes? Maybe more in the lower power ones, but I think it looked interesting in the ROE drafts I saw it. It's a real tempo swing against a slower deck that doesn't want to race and just wants to go long. Makes me want to build a sorcery speed removal...

The thing I dont like about cenobite is that it just locks you out from playing. I'm not keen on cards that let you get back on top of a board state from the back door, and playing this a few turns ahead against an aggresive deck just feels like boring and masturbatory.

I also think Charm has just incredibly sweet art. It just feels juicy to play it, even if its more efficent than it is splashy.

    KTK was great, hush!

General Print this Wizards! (So I can put it in my cube)

Seems like a hassle to play with, but still! Maybe you can have a counter on it or something? Land ~ enters the battlefield with a conquest counter. Whenever a creature you control attacks, if there isn't a conquest counter on ~, put a conquest counter on it. {T}: Add {1} to your mana pool...

Yeah, like, delver really works in a prowess deck where reckless waif just flips back as soon as you start chaining cantrips.

    Rasmus Riptide Cube (360 Unpowered)

So in summary, the wisdom I should take from this (nice write up grillo!) is if I want more synergy oriented drafts I need to define the archetypes and find ways to support them while also making the choice of drafting one of those decks the right one, by flattening power level and making sure...

    Rasmus Riptide Cube (360 Unpowered)

Probably the skaabs are too bad, hm. The idea behind the dredging was to feed kessig cagebreakers, splinterfright and nemesis of mortals while also supporting the reanimator strategies, that I think might not have come together because the ways to get fatties into the yard are sparse. I don't...

    Rasmus Riptide Cube (360 Unpowered)

Those were only the doublettes! I am running them as singletons for the moment, partly because I was running them as proxies but also because I think the decks they support will come together even with them as singletons :)

I guess what makes slaughtermaster deliver is that, given good fixing, it enables itself. It's also one of those "soft tricolor" cards that I actually think are kinda neat, when you want to skew things a little color-pairing wise. I'm going to after only a few drafts go ahead and go on a...

Oh yeah! Neat. Unexpected Potential feels like a World knit that doest just break the draft.

General Best starter deck(s) you've seen?

Yeah, I think a pair of 40-card two-colored decks that are in opposition (eg Izzet vs Golgari, or Azorius vs Rakdos) is a great way to display what the different colors do and have them balanced against each other. Vanilla creatures can do tons and tons of interesting stuff for beginners, so...

General Decks that have 3-0'd your cube

Hm, I do like the suggestion of not necessarily making removal worse so much as shifting its axis. Maybe I can let removal be more there for control and give aggro tricks as a way to get through?

Honestly making it a potentially busted stromkirk noble seems like a good way to make the proliferation less poisonous

What I'm super curious about is how much of this has to do with the fixing and how the color pair archetypes are set up. My preference would be tight 2 color splash a 3rd, the four colour ones are really ugly to me. Are these decks just a symptom of these styles of cube?

Article Cube Design - Tri-color Cards

I'm bumping this up again, because now we have had some time to play around with this stuff if we wanted as well as having KTK behind us. I've been thinking about draft formats and cubes a lot lately, and how the mana base can form the back bone for a format. I'm curious about how you people...

Hey now, I'm not running either one but if you're in the market for a memory adept in 2 colors :p
