I think that the delta between those two possibilities is too small to present a realistic target. You could probably run it in something like MODO Vintage cube just fine, but it would be a backup card for Jund that you use when other options have run dry--seems pretty safe and maybe kind of fun...
Generally, yeah. If you want to be cautious, I'd stay away from walkers that make tokens; however, that doesn't leave you with many options. Most of the WAR walkers are actually pretty okay in a low-power space.
I'm a fan of the execution! It might be a little subtle, but I'm not sure what else you can do to punch it up. My solution for a lot of these way to make them lands with channel abilities, but I think both have their advantages and disadvantages. I do think that these sorts of compactions tend...
Oh cool, Train has written an article!

But actually, this should have happened a long time ago. I'm shocked that people are even mad about this tbh. Guess that shows what I know!
Which episode of Drive to Work was this? I'm not usually a fan--they cover a lot of basic ground...
Balmor Battlemage Captain
Yes, he's yet another noncreature spells payoff, but he's
A) more explosive than the rest and
B) requires you to construct the deck a little differently.
Adeliz is a little too specific/low-powered for you, but always plays a lot better than one might think!
Not to derail too far into Star Trek spoilers, but even though I'd rather not see UB at all, I think I'd rather see them do those sets right. If Trek requires 68 legendary creatures (plus a redshirt), which it sounds like it does, than I hope it's a full-sized set.
To run similar numbers for...
Hey, welcome to the forums! I never realized that Cadric could copy lands, that's a super neat interaction. Could probably do something fun with Flagstones of Trokair.
You can also have a couple of "shard" archetypes, so maybe Esper gets to be manland control. Creeping Tar Pit and Celestial...

Is the rate good? No, not at all, but it's so flexible it gets a pass, and it tends to enable cool moments of control decks going "oh wait, I can do THAT with this??"
I prefer the Kraken because I figure that if a big flier (i.e. >3 power) Does The Thing, the Thing that it Does is going to be attacking and really nothing else.
To expand on Ravnic's point, one major issue regarding ramp discourse is that people have historically conflated the "unga bunga" style of ramp (i.e. ramp into a 4-5-6 drop on turns 3-4-5 and win off of being both being a turn ahead of schedule and their threats being inherently larger than...
Yeah this is grueling even for the Joey Chestnuts and Takeru Kobayashis of spoilers. I wonder why they decided to compress the seasons like that? Three weeks between complete image gallery and release seems longer than normal, but maybe I just haven't been paying attention.
I'm shocked that no one else was on Plumecreed Escort.
Plumecreed Escort
If this was a faerie people would be drooling over it.
I also run the following:

Cruelclaw is never coming out, but the other two are negotiable. Repel...
