Sets (FIN/FIC) Final Fantasy Testing and Includes thread!

Alisaie Leveillur Summon: Ixion Summon: Brynhildr Starting Town Double white 3-drop is going to be difficult to find space for, but I like all of these. Lord Jyscal Guado Ultima Astrologian's Planisphere Transpose Shambling Cie'th Summon: Primal Odin Summon: Esper Valigarmanda Summon: G. F...

    Sets [FIN] [UB] Final Fantasy

What won't come up? You can cast it the turn you play it and for two turns afterwards, proliferating just gives you less time. I think the card is really cool, but it seems a bit on the weak side. I will play it though since red etb creatures and cards that make you to play differently are both...

    General [Contest] A Good Omen!

Artist is Brian Valeza, I dunno why cardconjurer didn't want to put it on the Omen frame.

It seems intuitive to me that Mirror March and Fiery Gambit is a sequence of single coin flips, while Yusri is several simultaneous coin flips. Kind of like how Season of the Burrow doesn't make five tokens but rather a single token five times.

Also very good against flash creatures, which is otherwise a great way to play around wraths. Potentially backbreaking if you can give this flash.

    I'm assuming it's this weapon.

Astrologian's Planisphere Why in the world did they staple the card draw clause on a blue Deeproot Champion. It reads like ass, and did it need it to begin with? Couldn't we just focus on one instead of randomly having your second cantrip double-dip like you weren't going to be chaining cantrips...

Alisaie Leveilleur Sagas aside, here's a card I'm actually excited about. I love double-spelling payoffs, and importantly, I like them way more when they don't reward you with more cards that make it easy to keep doing it, which her brother(?) is doing. Plus I generally like the rate of this...

    Sets [FIN] [UB] Final Fantasy

Posting the sagas since they're the coolest. Scryfall will probably have them all relatively soon. Summon: Ixion Summon: Yojimbo Summon: Good King Mog XII Summon: Valefor Summon: Kujata Summon: Magus Sisters I think I like Ixion, although it seems kind of weak. The other white ones aren't as...

ub sux, modern magic sux, thank god for cube and mpc letting me engage with my hobby without supporting it Actually quite a lot of cool cards so far Starting Town For the most part a power-creeped Mana Confluence, and I'm not sure if I want that, but it makes it more appealing to play with my...

General [Almost Daily] Every Set in Magic, Cube Edition

I jammed this thing into every early draft I made when I started out tinkering with cubes, a modern version that cost like at most :r: to rebuy would have been really cool, I want to play more Bloodrush cards.

It's Mishra's Bauble, I like cantrips and this plays both quicker and in more interesting ways than its predecessor. Honorable mention to Vexing Sphinx, which is a really cool design. Also Vanish Into Memory for being extremely underrated in EDH.

Sets (TDM & TDC) Tarkir: Dragonstorm Testing/Includes Thread!

Kind of a disappointment of a set. Finally a plane that doesn't feel totally phoned in, cool mechanics, and home to sick looking dragons like Dragonlord Ojutai and Dragonlord Kolaghan, and this is what I get? We have standard legal delve, white prowess, double spelling, black creatures with...

Dirgur Island Dragon Disruptive Stormbrood Stormshriek Feral Twinmaw Stormbrood Whirlwing Stormbrood Runescale Stormbrood I wish the Omens appealed more to me, it would be really cool to be able to use Oath of Nissa and Once Upon A Time to get instants and sorceries for green spell velocity...

    Sets (TDM) Tarkir: Dragonstorm Previews!

Tell me about it, there's a white prowess token in the set and white has one prowess card so far, I expected a bit more. At least I do like both Cori-Steel Cutter and Rally the Monastery.

    Sets (TDM) Tarkir: Dragonstorm Previews!

Stillness in Motion This looks like a pretty cool build around, particularly in limited with reduced deck sizes. Also helps with the whole "I self mill myself and my Living Death is now in my graveyard" problem, although you could obviously mill this card too. Exiling the enchantment is also...

    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

Well, yes, obviously, I was too. Embrace continues to be a divination even as you retrace it is my point, not just the first time you cast it, Tormenting Voice is balanced around being CA neutral.

    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

It's not. Tormenting Voice is +0 on card advantage, Embrace is +1, it's a major difference. I feel like it's mostly a card for red decks to find their reach in the late game, maybe some spell velocity decks would like it too, but it's kind of limited how many decks want to cast divination over...

    Sets (TDM) Tarkir: Dragonstorm Previews!

It's useful across all colors, the effect appeals to me because it's fun to experiment with because of how the effect expresses itself differently with different color combinations, but you can't do that when you can't include it in your naya or grixis or pure simic deck. In that case, I'd...

    Sets (TDM) Tarkir: Dragonstorm Previews!

Yeah but I want players to flashback No One Left Behind and Secure the Wastes, or rebuy it with Unearth and Ephemerate. It's not like I don't tempt my players to railroad their drafts by adding extra colors, I have several converge and domain cards, but three-color cards are way too prescriptive...
