    Dom's Stream of Consciousness

Dom, do you have your cube list somewhere? I saw there was a cubetutor link at the front of this thread but that is obviously dead. Have you uploaded it to cube cobra or anything?

Power 9 Low Power Cube [360]

We usually draft and play 2-3 nights a week. Mostly my cube but we try other people’s cubes every once in a while

Power 9 Low Power Cube [360]

We draft on draftmancer.com You can upload custom card sets (I.e. cubes) quite easily and draft using a ton of different formats. We usually do glimpse and burn with a 1 card burn and 2 bots with 5-6 packs. That’s the one we have found most feels like the quantity and quality of cards you get...

Power 9 Low Power Cube [360]

My friend and I drafted and played this cube last night. First match he made a crazy Red/green Aggro deck sylvan library, bloodbraid elf etc to get an early card advantage and overwhelm me. I went a black white stacks deck after first pack first picking smokestack. I ended up also getting...

General [SPM] Spooder Man Testing/Inclues Thread

Does anyone know how the timing restrictions work for Mayhem? My understanding of madness was that the timing was based on the effect that allowed it to be discarded. That is, if you discarded a sorcery with madness while the stack wasn’t empty, you could still play it immediately. Will that...

    General [SPM] Marvel's Spider-Man

I’m surprised how passionate it seems most people are about the art, flavor, borders, etc of cards. I won’t say that I couldn’t care less because given two cards that are mechanically identical I guess I could feel preferences for the one I thought looked better or whatever. but in general...

If we are selecting an existing cube, I assume @ravnic 10% Accumulated Knowledge is the clubhouse favorite.

Sorry I definitely know that Tazeem is a more powerful card. I was more asking if I’m going to put one in my cube which promotes a better cube experience

But which makes for a better cube experience?

Maybe it’s a more interesting mini-game to solve if the tap power isn’t on a creature who also has evasion. Obviously cooler that it works with proliferate

Really like stun counters and the fact that it’s any land for grappling kraken. But tazeem seems like a better finisher with the flying and it comes out a turn earlier

    General CBS

Yeah. I think my original thought was when ravnic brought up the idea of mana dorks vs ramp spells I was thinking between the two, ramp spells have broader appeal because you want them in a ramp deck but also in a lands matter. To Ravnic's point, a ramp deck wants to be playing them on curve...

    General CBS

Yeah that's true. I was hoping there was a way to extend the spells matter archetype into green but probably a bridge too far.

    General CBS

Could these cards ever go into a prowess or other "spells matter" deck? Because that would be cool.

    General CBS

Thanks for those thoughtful explanations. Not sure I could have put it into words but that is exactly how I’ve always felt about ramp. It plays much more fun when it’s “get 1 or maybe 2 ramp pieces in to let me get to my mid game a turn or two early” and be a midrange style deck with creatures...

I’ve seen some people say they don’t include ramp in their cube or at least they are very restrictive about it. For instance “no one mana ramp cards” or whatever. Is there a distinct reason for this or is it just the general theme of keeping the power level in check?
