General Big Spell Bullshit (And Other Noncreature Cards)

Cycling/channel cards would probably be good here. For comparison, that new cube I posted uses Open the Vaults and Hypergenesis and Yuna's Decision (and I've considered See the Unwritten). There's several artifacts/enchantments that bin themselves, and cycling creatures allow you to have a...

    [288] Hidden Depths

Hidden Depths A 6 person discard/cycling themed cube intended to be drafted 4 packs of 12 Overview: Many of the core ideas that drive this cube’s design are carried over from the Graveyard Combo Cube, but reenvisioned in a lower-power context. Some qualities that are prioritized: -...

I’m a big fan of Honor. Easy pick for me.

    General Making green more interactive

My approach to cube has always been that the color/s with the lowest power level sets the ceiling for your cube’s general power level. If green is feeling too weak, lower the power of the other colors until it feels more even. I tend to think more in guilds, but Selesnya has historically been...

    Nanonox's 1vs1 cube

Crop Rotation does work here....Playing a land for turn and Rotating into a Fetchland gives you 3 landfall triggers for 1 mana (4 if the land you play is a fetch land)

    Nanonox's 1vs1 cube

It could be about time to dust off the berserkers archetype! I have a special place in my heart for the deck. I really like Tifa and Hobgoblin, but I'm on the verge of cutting spells matter cards altogether so Slickshot isn't the most appealing to me...but some ideas: Rydia, Summoner of the...

Yeah, I love the designs so far, but being poor reanimation targets keeps them from being a windmill slam for my cube

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

Matter of preference for sure, but also cube context dependent. There’s a lot of interesting cards in the pool to choose from, but I don’t find many appealing for my Boros archetypes and cube power level

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

Brightglass Gearhulk is a stud, and does everything I want in Selesnya. I still like KOTR even if it’s showing its age some

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

I should probably give Arabella, Abandoned Doll a go. I think the Goosebumps villain vibe initially turned me off to it.

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

Sometimes a little bluntness is good. I still like Soulherder but would cut it in a second if I was presented with something more interesting. My Azorius section is pretty unimpressive….but not as bad as Boros

Much like everyone else I thoroughly dislike the aesthethic, but I'm a big fan of some of the card designs Certain: Hobgoblin, Mantled Marauder: Easy include for my cube with such heavy discard themes. Marauding Mako has been a stud. Agent Venom: I'd cut Midnight Repear for being a little...

Nice! Let me know how Faldorn works out. Rydia is pretty bananas. Worth finding space for imo.

Maybe... Faldorn, Dread Wolf Herald] I'm not sure about the power-level....it's stronger than Halana and Domri, but maybe not strong enough?

One of my favorite cube archetypes is Azorius Flash. It’s a dynamic tempo deck backed with counterspells and removal. The available card pool allows the archetype to scale to almost any power level imo

And inevitably there will be another card printed within a year or so that will fulfill a similar enough role, with better aesthetics, and is good enough to replace the eye-sores. I think of a handful of cards as stand-ins until the perfect card comes along…it allows me to hone in my cube’s design
