General Golem Tribal Theme: Cards That Wreck Deagol

Man, so strange there's never ever been a thread about this topic. Certainly not one that I can remember.

Does anybody have any ideas for how to support Golem tribal in a cube environment?

Since all golems are artifact creatures, maybe you could use some of the artifact creature buffers from mirrodin and esper? That would also give you more tribe members.

While it is perhaps true that golem wreaks deagol, the big weakness to your strategy is that valakut, the molten pinnacle will wreak your golem 100% of the time. Golems 3 toughness means that this card is unbeatable, and your strategy will fall to its doom.

Sorry jason, time to go back to goat tribal--now thats a tribal strategy you can believe in.

Yeah, Valakut does pose a problem, but something like this could keep our Golem alive, if he doesn't die too soon:

Great suggestion james, but yeah, probably a little to slow to the scene: needs flash imo. Might be good in a kithkin based strategy though?

Yeah I was pretty attached to Kithkin, it was a shame when them and the elves rotated out. I dunno, maybe they'll do a return to Lorwyn set, like a prequel or something. But it would probably suck. The art would look all computer generated now, and it would lose freedom by trying to live up to the original set.
