How to design a set, by MARO
I especially found everything from Part 12 and later interesting.

The article gives guidelines as to how many cards of each type, color and ability there could be in a set. For instance: “The default puts three artifact creatures at common and three at uncommon.”
Here is another quote about the skeleton for white creatures: “ Keywords found in white at common (with the defaults in number listed beside them):
Defender (0–1, this isn't counted as a creature)
First Strike (1, sometimes only on your turn or on attack)
Flash (0–1)
Flying (2–3, try not to repeat stats, you want a mix of different powers)
Indestructible (0–1, only granted temporarily by a spell)
Lifelink (1, power 3 or less)
Vigilance (1)
Common creatures don't often have more than one keyword. When they do, flying is usually one of them.”
Take a look
