Had a chance to draft this grid against a friend yesterday, and the games were pretty fun! Often, a deck came out of the gates quickly and there was back-and-forth action from turns 3 to 8/10. Generally, each deck had a plethora of action with the bounce+scry lands and subtle (or not so subtle) sources of card advantage.

I started off with a Cultivate & Savage Alliance after villain snapped up Delraich, Sengir Autocrat and Boon of Erebos. I flirted with white as my second color until about pick 9 while villain cemented his black foothold. Villain's second color stayed open until pick 11 or 12, when some premium white cards appeared in good grid position for him.

My Deck

I didn't sideboard at all, but perhaps a second Hammerhand had a place in my 40. Both Totem-Guide Hartebeest and Auratouched Mage had multiple instances where they couldn't fetch an aura. I think there may have been a build without as many aura cards and with Siege Wurms, but I thoroughly enjoyed making baby dragon tokens and tutoring for low-impact spells. The auras also gave me many more sources of card advantage so the deck was firing on all cylinders well into the midgame.

Villain's Deck

My favorite moment was him saying, "Phantom General, one time!" and then drawing it to realize Serf tokens are not 1/1s. I still lost that game 6 or so turns later. Villain also Pacifismed a Brood Keeper whose faith remained unbroken, much to the both of our surprise. (It made a baby drag.) He rearranged his deck to be BWr for Galvanic Arc and Glory of Warfare for the last match, but I am unsure if it was noticeably better.

The lesser amount of removal was felt in the games, but villain never seemed to be whining for one of his four pieces. I was impressed with Judge Unworthy. Delraich was a bruiser when it cam out of turns four or five via an Autocrat's serf horde. Both Unmake the Graves and Maw of Obzedat overperformed to my expectations, with Mentor of the Meek being a bomb as expected.
