Sets [EOE] Edge of Eternities

yeah, this is the two drop:

("Biome-Chan Engineer", as a friend of mine instantly said)

also some stuff I just think is neat:

though I do wonder why Dyadrine has 1 toughness Goyf-style

...for those times when Luminarch Aspirant just wasn't killing them fast enough and/or you needed to get through a blocker? I mean, I get it, combo with station, but.

I woulda played just the first mode in retail limited! I like the indestructible tricks lately!

cool, if kind of... eminently replaceable. but this is the right buildaround for someone here I'm sure.

Man, yet another impact white 2-drop. One of the most stacked slots in cube nowadays. This being able to turn itself into a 4/3 the turn it comes down if you go slightly off curve by going wide early is pretty gross. It rewards aggressively attacking, has the ever relevant human typing, and being able to negate a blocker in the mid-late game is pretty powerful.

I haven't even gotten a chance to cube with Voice of Victory yet; these cards are coming out way too quickly.

Wait, why are there Humans in Edge of Eternity?

Haven’t read any lore for this set.
Humans can be in space! They have spaceships same as the Kavu and everyone else.

Seriously though I don't think it's ever treated as lore-worthy that "there are humans here" in what I've read so far. They just kinda are.

Just because something is physically possible doesn’t mean it has to happen.

And I am not even sure it is physically possible to travel to the f.ing Edge of Eternity :p

2/1 vig for W is a good rate. The ability doing nothing if they have a land in hand that already enters tapped is... not optimal. I wonder if they considered just doing this as an Alchemy card to make them pick a spell if they had one, cause you can't do that in paper? Not that I'd like it if it wasn't a real card, etc.

and like I get the vigilance is for Station but it is still kinda... clunky

I’m pretty excited about this angel (!?), minus the vigilance.

Good rate and the ability is just annoying enough to be worth it but not crippling. Blinking this gets more and more tilting and works well with the other White taxing effects (Esper Sentinel, Thalia, Mana Tithe, Elite Spellbinder, that battle, …). Seeker’s tapped land argument is a strike against it, but still not a deal breaker.

Flightless angels… This is only the third one in existence. We can forgive Sustaining Spirit since it was originally printed as a Guardian, but hey, art direction wasn’t as good back then. Weeping Angel is a mess, and I have actually flashed it in myself to try and block a flyer, only to find out it can’t, despite the big pair of unfolded wings in the art. At least Lightstall Inquisitor doesn’t have obvious wings that lure you into playing mistakes, but it’s still weird to see this creature type on a Savannah Lions.

Oh, it's an Angel. Giada, Font of Hope fans, there you go, WotC finally just threw up their hands and said "screw it, we're in space" rather than demanding going full Segovian Angel every time to get that creature type.

(I do wonder if this is a trend, because they've talked about how hard it is to make 1-2 mana Angels before because they all demand flying and so on)
