General [SPM] Spooder Man Testing/Inclues Thread

(you'll often draw a card and gain a life before your opponent can untap)
Is the trick to resist the urge to play it turn 3, but wait until 4 when you can web sling it in and replay the 1 mana creature (e.g. Spyglass siren) you returned to hand that same turn?

17lands doesn't rank it all that highly, but maybe that's due to the skill issue above, and SPM limited lacking the curve into Dion, Bahamut's Dominant, Blade Splicer, or Adeline, Resplendent Cathar you'd get in cube.

Now that I think of it, Silk, Web Weaver / Torens, Fist of the Angels or Oltec Matterweaver all go pretty hard with this too if you want to hard cast it and still draw that turn.

I do like that he's a real blocker at 4 toughness as compared to Bennie, and web slinging used properly is inherently valuable too. Would love to hear how this plays out in your environment as I'm tempted to give it a spin too!

I think UK is pretty decent especially if you have the cheap creatures to bounce.

I keep forgetting Bennie who looks great, but would personally run

It’s tougher to trigger since you need 3 creatures to draw the card, but!
- triggers off artifacts and creatures increasing decks that want it
- 1 mana warp + Thraben Inspector, Ivora, Insatiable Heir and company is easy to cast for a first card
- Warp has a lot of synergistic hooks to mess around with

The working with artifacts is the big selling point for me!

I have been running her and, though limited in reps, I've really liked her so far, both in paper and in practice drafts/games. The Warp ability works great with UK too!

I realized why I'd got this slightly wrong -- I had been looking at Sealed because of the qualifier last weekend, where it's the 14th best card of the set with a 63.2% games-in-hand win-rate, a full percent ahead of the next non-rare.

It still beats out most in-color rares in pick-two draft, but it's maybe the 4th or 5th best non-rare in pick-two at 59.9% GIH WR. This is lower than MH3's Amped Raptor and Writhing Chrysalis who were at 64.1% and 63.9% for Premiere Draft respectively, so I think it's still somewhat fair to compare them.

But yeah, playing it with Dion and Adeline makes it really go whoosh. Even dorks like Ainok Strike Leader and Searslicer Goblin make it pretty easy to trigger reliably, as I've seen in Staff of the Storyteller.

Yeah, I've been pretty happy with Oltec Matterweaver and think Silk, Web Weaver would've been reasonably popular were it not a spider-man-themed card.

Yeah, it's a big boy. I'll let you know how it goes!
