General [FRA] Reality Fracture

Set code: FRA (and Commander is [currently unknown])
Release date: October 2, 2026

My most anticipated set of the year, looks like it will likely be a Planar Chaos-like variant.

We've gotten some rumors and leaks recently and this looks like a real card:

A red variant of Snapcaster Mage trading in Flash for Haste, turn it into a more proactive threat. I can see some sick sequences with this as a three-drop rebuying a bolt, later turns would basically turn it into body + bigger removal option. Go nuts with Cori-Steel Cutter.

Generally I take leaked images with a huge grain of salt, but there's too much going on here in terms of art with the fractured mirror reflection of OG Snap, the shard with part of the card name, and just the sheer effort it would take to fake this. I think this is legit.

I, for one, would welcome Planar Chaos 2: Electric Boogaloo with open arms. Although the WoTC of 2026 might be a wee bit lazier regarding callbacks to the shifted originals, mechanically I'm sure it will be exciting.

I'm in agreement that the cards seem real and legit. I'll be at Magic Con in Vegas in 10 days and will be able to assess for certain in person there!

I actually really like the new Chandra walker. She does a lot without any of her abilities feeing overbearing. She protects herself in a unique way, that again feels like a real cost to her.

I recently cut two of my blue walkers and really wouldn't mind another, and a 3mv variant with 4 solid abilities sounds like what a 2026 walker that I can get behind.

I thought this was a split card at first.

Thanks WotC for adding more Prepared vampires for that one project I'm going to get around to one of these days I swear.

(More generally, I kinda hope that this means that we're going to get more Prepared cards soon vs. just being a one off.)

For both of the Jace arts, is he inside the magic veil thing pressing against it with his hands, or is he in front of it and channeling similar-looking magic with each of his hands?

Also how has this twerp been using only one glove all this time and I just now noticed. His whole outfit has always been somewhat asymmetrical, but that's a step too far.

Man... I can't believe it. This man never grew out of of his Chuunibyou phase. Tbf, he actually does have an actual tragic backstory but... I can't unsee it.

I mean, Jace is a dimension-hopping wizard who used to be a cyborg and a pirate (not at the same time). At a certain point choosing the chuuni life is just waking up and facing the facts.

...

From context clues, it looks like Konstrari (the {R/G} school) is going to be themed around artifice and engineering, which might mean that we're going to get a {R/G} artifact (sub)theme. If so, I'm kinda hoping that they do something weird with it and don't just default to "power 4 matters, but we achieve that through artifacts".

I'm also curious about what "invasive healing" could be referring to for Vigorbloom.
