The dumbest thing about this whole hybrid thing is that the Commander rules are literally unintuitive for new players. I’ve seen multiple new commander players try and play hybrid cards in their deck that didn’t match the color identity of their commander…

I heartily endorse Showdown of the Skalds! Scales well to power level, very powerful in low mv cubes, but still super satisfying in slower cubes!

Sure, but even if nostalgia was your only reason to play the format, that is still fine. Like, for me nostalgia is not a denigrating word. So I'm sorry if I made that impression on anyone. I just meant to say that it looked like a nostalgia format to me with a fairly slow-moving metagame...
