Great points about Scorcher. The more I think about this card the more I think it's a little crazy that he can kill an opponent at 9 life. My favorite solution is just to set his death damage to a flat 2.
As for the Egg, I really like the change to targeting any graveyard. Picture this: T2...
Obviously Mirrodin Besieged is a great set to look at if you're building a 720-card artifact-heavy cube. Lots of great colorless "true artifacts" that feel good to play. Signal Pest is probably my favorite, but I'm also a big fan of:
Thopter Assembly
This is a very fun way to suddenly put a...
The only card I run from Fallout is Junktown. Junk tokens are amazing and I can't wait to see them in a Magic the Gathering set. Since I'm running Gastal Thrillroller in my cube, I think it's safe to say cars and trucks are no longer off-limits in terms of flavor, but I'd still prefer a more...
I didn't realize this, but I actually run a complete cycle of equipment from this set in my Multivalent peasant cube:
Greatsword of Tyr
Mystery Key
Ghost Lantern
Two-Handed Axe
Saddle of the Cavalier
Out of all these cards, Two-Handed Axe is definitely my favorite. I don't see this card going...
M11 came out during the peak years of my engagement with the game, and I have fond memories of building kitchen-table decks out of all this junk. Fauna Shaman has received her flowers in this thread already, but I have some favorite cards here:
Mitotic Slime
Hoarding Dragon
Garruk's Packleader...
Ezuri's Predation
A green board wipe!? I run this card because the environment cares about big creature tokens, and because it's a Commander-compatible cube where an 8-mana spell might actually get cast. I also personally like it a lot.
Important! The tokens are errata'd Phyrexians, so if...
Journey to Eternity
I loved the transforming destination lands from this set, and I think Journey to Eternity is my favorite. I also run Storm the Vault and Golden Guardian, which are both sweet in artifacts-matter environments.
I love Summons so much, and they would be so cool in my cube, which supports Enchantments and Delirium. Might have to make some in-universe customs for these because they're cool as hell.
Wreck and Rebuild
An absolutely sweet, highly flexible effect gets the Universes Within treatment! This card is very awesome in my Welder's Workshop cube, where there is always a valuable artifact to destroy, and it's also often advisable to mill yourself for five while you ramp. Plus: playable...
I also have a custom Waterfront Bouncer, just because I wanted a paper version with a modern frame. Changed the name and typeline for my own amusement.
Get it? Because frogs bounce!
