How do people feel about white catch up cards?
They are unreliable enough that they don't see full play without some sort of way of sacrificing your lands. The only exception is Tithe, because it's an instant and can be easily abused with Fetchlands.

Loyal Warhound and Knight of the White Orchid are a hair away of being playable of my cube. Warhound needs to be a human and Knight needs to be 1W. As they are right now, they don't do enough to justify being so useless on the play.

Currently, I only run Tithe and Land Tax and the latter has a buch of tools to use it.

What intrigues me about these cards, is that they're actually worse when you are on the play. A nice little balancing of the inherent disadvantage you have.

Truth. And also true with the bounce lands @alvoi

However they kind of need to be playable and interesting even when they are not ‘active’. So even when you are on the play the need to be interesting. Otherwise they are boring to include in your deck.

Like or reply to this post if I should make a thread for the Yu-Gi-Oh custom cube I've been making. Not sure if there's interest here.

Just create a different thread for it so it doesn’t go in the normal Custom thread. Or make a new blog. Both works I would say :)

I've played my fair share of yugioh back then and while I have some nostalgia for it, I just think it's not really a great game mechanically.

However, my buddy had a PS1 game when we were in elementary school, where you could improve your weak monsters in game by just fusing two of them together. You never knew what you would get, but you could just try jamming any two monsters together, that was hilarious :D

oh man if this is YGO: Forbidden Memories that game is absolutely wild to do blind and a hilarious speedrun game to watch if you're into card game speedruns

it was even at a Games Done Quick:

(that said it could have been at least one other game... no it couldn't, the one based on the War of the Roses was PS2 and came out the week before 9/11, oh my god I'm crumbling to dust)

The Yugioh in my head is so much cooler than the Yugioh that actually exists. Maybe that's the true power of Yugioh.

That said... Brad, that's honestly pretty impressive. How long did it take you to translate so many Magic cards into Yugioh-sprek?
I dunno. Doing it while I watch NBA playoffs. YGO is a little weird because you need like 30 Doom Blade, 10 Remove Soul, 10 Immolating Glare, 30 Naturalize. There isn't much wiggle room because it all costs 0 mana.

There's a few classics that are placed into cycles to encourage players into different decks, as there's no color restrictions. Cards that are specific to Attributes or monster Types. That stuff fills spaces a little faster.

I need 30-32 monsters of each "color." I did the CC import so that I can check the monster Type ratios.

EDIT: It's worth mentioning that they aren't all "converted" cards. Some of them are good Dominarian art on a good YGO effect and it's unrelated to the MTG card, but I tried to make it similar when possible.
