Oh, right, other people put bombs in their cubes.

    The Smooth Twin Cube

So, hopping off this because of my recent wishpost... I feel like the Twin format is fascinating because it naturally enables stuff that isn't good in normal cubes, simply because that stuff normally would eat up a ton of space. Like, just to give a really basic example... it's really tricky to...

    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

I mean, you do have a bunch of bigger creature tokens in your cube... and that just means that it's probably going to get passed to the guy who drafted Roar of the Wurm.

I'd even go so far as to say that wishes kinda suck in cube, simply because the situations where wishes are good hardly come up in draft formats. Like, a wish is good when you're using it to pretend that you have seven copies of a key combo piece (3x in deck, 1x in board, 4x wishes), when...

If you're looking for low-power equipment that helps close out the game, how about something like... Team Pennant?

    General Fight Club

I'm honestly kinda surprised at Ranger-Cap vs. Thresher being a fight, since they belong in very different decks. Ranger is cool because it grabs you another aggro critter or Mom or something. Thresher wants to be in the same deck as, like, Adorned Pouncer.

It's a budget thing? And you aren't ready to go down Blacksmithy Road? Yeah, sure, take the "bad" filterlands. It's still going to do filter, it's just not going to be terribly smooth while it does it.

Honestly, the biggest issue with them is that they don't tap for any mana on their own. Compare it to the (much sexier) version from the full filterland cycle: Sunken Ruins EDIT: I realize that that was kinda vague, and didn't touch on an important difference — Catacombs can filter off-color...

I mean, the correct number to pick is always going to be 0. Anything else is simply cowardice. ;)

    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

The key differences between Sprout Swarm and Skyfisher Monument are that Skyfisher Monument requires two cards (which means that it's less consistent) and that Skyfisher Monument is way easier to disrupt, either with instant-speed creature removal or by removing the big lump sitting on the...

I have a constructed deck with that combo in it. And it's... fine? It gives you inevitability in the late game, sure, but it's not like Pack Rat where it is straight-up better than anything else you might want to do after a certain point.

General (BRO) The Brother's War Spoilers

My current take on the cube (I have 2) is avoiding special frames (so no split cards/Planewalkers/Sagas), so I'm not planning on shoving it in. Going by my original take (where I was using special frames), though, both costs would have to match. As a result, I'd be restricted to: Combat...

I'm actually interested in quite a few cards this time around... because I'm unhappy with the Green section in the Capitalism Cube. Alloy Animist Citanul Stalwart Teething Wurmlet Sarinth Steelseeker Fade from History I'm also interested in a few cards in other colors as well for that cube...

Recommission is pretty sweet, isn't it? I like that they're pushing Tiny Reanimator in colors other than Black. This is an interesting board wipe. I'm not sure how functional it is, outside of multiplayer, but it's certainly interesting.

General Macroarchetype Cube or: Who's the Beatdown Cube

That's actually why I called it "aggro" and not aggro — to me, a big part of two (non-combo) decks "belonging" to the same archetype is that you can sorta jam the decks together and have the result still belong to that archetype. White, Red, and Black aggro have very similar gameplans, so you...

I like it — I feel like it's going to usually be "Mother Bear + Strength of the Pack", and that's a perfectly acceptable card.

If nothing else it gives you an artifact token? And you only lose a Powerstone if it dies? EDIT: This is a nice boyo. It's not necessarily a powerful boyo, but it's a nice boyo.
