The UW Elixir decks in that Standard were a thing of beauty. I think the key addition that pushed the deck was an unconditional answer to everything: Planar Cleansing You have to be able to stabilize no matter what, and this thing is a nuke for the board.

I agree with your point on prowess being too expensive/mana intensive. Not only that, but Manlands shine late game when other threats have been exhausted, and this runs counter to prowess (requiring gas to be strong). Also, I think a looting UR manland would be just worse than Loothouse

Funny enough, the simplest manland was the most dominant in Standard for a long, long time. Simple, yet potent: Mutavault
