I guess you could grab a sharpie and errata the old faithfuls to use Daybound/Nightbound? And then conspicuously don't mention the whole "you can't transform them through other means lol" thing. ... Oh god. This is why Tovolar has to have that damn "transform any number of human werewolves"...

I thought Ravnic's Madness theme had less to do with using actual Madness cards and more to do with having cards that are better in your graveyard than your hand, like Honored Hydra? Or am I misremembering?

"This source" is WotC's official mechanics article for Midnight Hunt. EDIT: But yeah, your post perfectly encapsulates why this is so damn annoying.

Someone just brought it to my attention that, in contrast to what's written on the actual cards, Daybound/Nightbound cards are incapable of transforming through other means. I'm pretty annoyed by this.

@Velrun To be entirely fair, that was a typo on my part. I meant to type it the other way around.

That's actually kinda fantastic, honestly. It turns from night to day because you have a hand full of lands? Boom, toss two of them and hopefully draw some action.

I love how Magic had NWO, where they decided that cards shouldn't be novels, and then ended up writing novels anyway. EDIT: Look at this fine gentleman. Look how happy he is.

It also does a fun Wildfire impression, so that's nice.

Hey now, Bloodthirsty Adversary, while obscenely wordy, is actually a solid, fair card that scales nicely with the power level of your format. Admittedly, that's because it's arguably the weakest card in the cycle... but that just means that it isn't dumb garbage.

But it's Green, blacksmithy. A green 6-drop is really just a 3-drop in disguise.

We don't have an Honored Hydra yet. There are still a bunch of cards yet to be spoiled. EDIT: Behold GEORGE:

My opinions on the set's mechanics so far: Flashback: Always lovely to see, and we've gotten a bunch of nice flashback spells so far. No complaints here. Disturb: Hey, it's basically Aftermath, But For Creatures — I enjoy the fact that you can reset a disturbed creature by flickering it or...
