    General Fight Club

Emry is a lot of fun and inherently fair in that it's a creature. You can tweak your cube to include her.

General (MAT) March of the Machine Aftermath Previews

Mutation is just overdesigned. They wanted player to put several cards into one creatyre. However, Magic punishes that kind of play extremely harshly because you can just blow up the creature. Hence. they tried to add all sorts of wonky exceptions to make it work despite the whole game telling...

General Wishlist for MH3 Archetypes: What’s Yours?

This is it for me, too. We have all the enablers and tricks in the world, but not enough cards that actually want to be discarded or played from the graveyard. At least for my power level.

    General New Format: Oathbreaker

Just what I wanted from Magic, more planeswalkers.

Wait, so does Kappa Cannoneer trigger on itself or not? I'm confused.

    General Fight Club

It's a good example of just how few creatures were played back then and how opressive Oath of Druids, which wasn't even a tier 1 deck, was.

Sets (MoM) April of the Machines Previews

It seems to me Magic is deep into that "Comic book bullshit" where writers try to come up with even more cataclysmic, game-changing events they are unable to handle and all without actually killing characters or upsetting the status quo much. Has Magic had time travel yet? Seems like it will...

General How much do you love Magic right now

It absolutely has. It sounds cynical, but Magic is no longer a game first, but a brand. From planeswalkers, to the aggrandizing art, to reflecting your real-life identity through your hard-bought commander, it's a core drive of the design.

I haven't seen anything that interests me other than Drown in Ichor or what have you.

    "Fast" multiplayer cube

I really like that Aristocrats Paradox deck! It has a bit of blink, too, which is fun. Elixir of Immortality is a pet card of mine. I'm not sure if a fast multiplayer cube is the best place for it, but I do think it's better than Noxious Revival, which, for some reason, has always been...

Note that Crovax doesn't count because that version of him comes from Planar Chaos. I do think the ability to pay life like this doesn't feel very white, but it's true that it's not unheard of. Also, Mana Tithe is white to me, so I might just be a hypocrite.

Venerated Rotpriest looks great for Heroic subthemes, but I wish it did anything other than give poison counters.

Erik's "The cool side of Magic" cube

Dream Halls could be a good card! I'll get a copy to play around with, because why not :)

Erik's "The cool side of Magic" cube

I decided to run this little package and it's fun! Academy Rector Sneak Attack Spirit-Sister's Call And I'm happy with my cube! I made a couple cuts here and there, but it just feels consistant. I feel it's "finished" for now. Sure, I can try to improve it in many ways, but there aren't many...

Erik's "The cool side of Magic" cube

I am so happy with my Earthcraft decks now. They have integrated themselves into other archetypes and now feel coherent as a theme. For example: Naya Turbohumans https://cubecobra.com/cube/deck/63b01404bee892509ff45afc Anyways, I've been running the numbrs and I have both a small amount of...

    General CBS

You can have factions in a game without locking them out of vital abilities, such as answering all card types or having access to draw. In other games, it's normal, it doesn't led to all factions being the same or to RPS dynamics. In fact, it promotes diversity because your ability to play a...

    General CBS

They are the same type of card, very much like instant and sorceries. You are right that you could reduce both and the game would be better off for it. I think it all goes back to the idea that artifacts "turned off" when tapped. While it was a design decision, making entire colors unable to...

General Lucky Paper Radio's cube year review.

Cube hits: Tchotchke Elemental The Raven Man Currency Converter Containment Construct Tchotchke Elemental is just a lot of fun. It really should be in more cubes, it supports a lot of stuff and is not oppressive. It is one of the few good green aggro cards and it goes with both tokens and...
