I'm also intending to add Troll to a cube that is pretty low power. In fact, my intention this time around is to start with my top end threats for the slower decks, and work myself backwards for the rest of the cards in the cube (the lower cost cards and the removal should match). So, I will...

I've been looking at arborback stomper as a nice "good stuff" card that can help act as glue for the bigger ramp deck that needs to stabilize before playing 6-7 drops. Maybe Arborback and Ant Queen are the 2 "boring" work horses I should run a long with the more "gimicky" Gravetroll and Cage...

Hm I do have an Ant Queen, but it seems like a pain to play against with it gumming up the board. Maybe it's not an issue?

What kind of green 5-drops do people run in lower power cubes? I feel like it's though to find something exciting while not being too strong (e.g. no Thragtusks). I'm currently considering a graveyard oriented green section so I already have picked out Golgari Grave-Troll and Kessig...

    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

Ah right, damn. I don't run customs (and have no interest in them). Really too bad that Wizards insist on printing partial land cycles

Irrigated Farmland Speaking of which, how good/bad is this cycle? I know people generally don't want to run CIPT lands, but honestly after having played a lot of retail limited and pauper I don't know if I mind them as much. Helps keep power level down I suppose, and I really like the duals...

I hadn't considered the interaction between loam and man lands! That actually seems legitimately good, and I feel like we're in a golden age of man lands to pick from (There's like, several ones in each color pair now)

How mega ultra slow do I need the cube to be for this to be even the slightest bit viable: life from the loam + Hidden Courtyard Hidden Cataract Hidden Necropolis Hidden Nursery Hidden Volcano

Now that we have reprints with different art I suppose one option, if you still want some kind of uniqueness, is to run one of each version. e.g: https://scryfall.com/card/ltc/215/faithless-looting https://scryfall.com/card/plst/DDK-59/faithless-looting...

I'm more than ok running middle earth cards, a lot of them are fantastic. Might go ahead and just run both the LotR cyclers + one of the 2 mana cyclers tbh. I'm brewing up a lower power cube ATM, and I just love cycling-fatties so much.

Here's silly fight for low power land cyclers: Furnace Host Charger vs Seismic Monstrosaur vs Oliphaunt Oliphaunt does have the benefit of cycling for 1, but I do like the ability of drawing cards from lands too
