I assume he is either literally named Grandfather, or he was the grandfather of somebody famous (or just a famously long-lived friendly chap) and everybody started calling him that and it's his nickname. As another example, there aren't quotes around Mr. Orfeo, The Boulder even though he's not a...

The former. I want "flip over cards until you hit X". It would look like cascade and people would probably shorthand it that way, because people are lazy. Like me!

I would not mind trying to make "seek" work as a cascade-like (username joke goes here) - like, Seek New Knowledge could be cascade for two nonlands, put them in your hand, then put a card on the bottom. Doesn't have to be cascade as casting to be interesting to me.

I think it has multiple different kinds of turnover rates. We all still post here, but how many of us draft WotC-provided booster packs as often as we did when we were 18 or whenever? Nobody actually quits Magic, as the old joke goes, but they sure as heck spend less etc.

He says "new deciduous counter" though - lore is already deciduous from Sagas (actually evergreen at this point right?), and time is only new to being deciduous because vanishing and suspend and so on, though that is reasonable-sounding compared to most of the others.

when I was literally 11 years old I was casting Dead Ringers and having a blast I'm pretty sure the only reason I was able to cast it correctly was the name, the name does like 95% of the heavy lifting because god knows the printed text doesn't, and nobody else seems to have the same attitude...

Yeah, Narset, Parter of Veils has ten relevant words (plus a big activated ability) and how often do people get got by that to this day? (including me.)

this is Shuuhei Nakamura erasure and I won't stand for it I probably even did not name the right Japanese HoFer who really loved Siege Mastodons but I remember LSV making this exact joke when Purebloods was spoiled

Yeah, the one upside to the sheer amount of stuff they're printing is that it's gotten really easy to find "I want something like X but with/without Y".

Little more info: The new The List is 40 cards, down from the previously 300 or so. 10 of them are rare/mythic and the rest are common/uncommon. Arena draft boosters will be identical, including the new The List, and yes, they will be Limited playable. Think of it as a very small bonus sheet.

With the disclaimer that I'm not entirely certain, because it's an Un-card, and not a tournament legal one, so it may just have one of those wordings (like how the Oracle on Uktabi Kong still said "comes into play" until something like 2018...) Animation Module Bioessence Hydra Effects like...

Accurately identified - I'm not a fan of Court for the same reason I wasn't a fan of Sword of Body and Mind five years ago or Jace, Memory Adept ten years ago (remember him? times have changed! we're old! stuff today costs less mana than it used to!) It's not the speed of game ending, it's the...

It's a very powerful mechanic, but it's powerful in a way I like - incentivizes attacking and blocking, and specifically players over planeswalkers. Putting power into "combat matters" is not something I'm ever going to feel too bad about! Weirdly, I do wish blue had one. I don't play Fall from...
