I feel ya. Some people love the constancy of something like Brood War or Chess or Smash Melee. I think they're crazy, but they're entitled to their opinion.

    General Custom Cards: The Lab

So @safra posted on the cube talk discord today something I found really interesting: Here's her #1, and I agree, this would lose a lot if you fell into magic's usual branding truisms (quoting someone, cracking a joke, elvish expression meaning "to do a thing" which ends up being longer than...

Pokemon TCG: the budget Vintage you didn't know existed

There is an excellent game boy color game for the 1999s era format if you're chasing the feeling rather than the camaraderie: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pok%C3%A9mon_Trading_Card_Game_(video_game)

I think you're doomed to imperfection, not failure, and those are not the same thing. Pick one and give it a shot

    Sets (PIP) Fallout Commander Previews

Yes, and then you have to pay the (somewhat) variable cost of the top card of your library, or lose it. Like yeah, it's a simple problem to solve, but this does produce more varied outcomes than most trinkets, is what I'm saying

    Sets (PIP) Fallout Commander Previews

I mean the cost is the card, right? Like that's why these don't have activation costs It certainly has a lot more variance than clues or blood, which (IIRC) people like about maps

Is your goal to have people with 17 cave manabases? The payoff for that has to be pretty high for people to want to do it if they have a basic landbox, but you can just make a desert cube if you want to force people into that situation

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

Yeah I for one am happy to finally have a green interactive spell that I can cast without fear of my opponent 2-for-1ing me into last week, and that can flexibly be used to counter a removal spell if that's what the game needs from you. If you can only imagine this card being played against you...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

Not at present. I'm running it, it hasn't shown up in draft yet, but I'm interested in it, and I'm only using it in fair ways. I'll defend split second on it in that while inelegant, it does actually accomplish the goal of the card. Split second might be what a "fight" spell needs to work in...

Explore plays really well! Dom was even talking on Dominaria's judgement that maps are basically the perfect trinket, mostly owing to how a bit of uncertainty about the value of a map goes a long way. Clues you're just always choked on mana, treasure you're choked on cards, blood is just a bit...

    Nanonox's 1vs1 cube

You get a gnome per counter, so you do only get 1 when you attack with your 2 drop. But I do like the idea. Very Rabblemastery
